Bible Study Faith of Christ - Faith in Christ

They were made righteous by the obedience of one ! Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Of course it was His obedience to the cross, that provided the one sacrifice able to cleanse us of our sins.

The way we partake of this is to believe, and therefore obey the Gospel.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

No where in the Bible do we find a scripture that say whoever is saved shall believe in Him.

Salvation, eternal life is the result of believing.

Of course you are missing the point. Its by His One Obedience many are made righteous Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

You are saying by the obedience of more than one to make many righteous. Thats not what the text says.

Its the opposite of by the one mans disobedience many were made sinners, it only took his one act of disobedience to make many sinners.

You are saying by the obedience of more than one

Those are your words, not mine.

These are my words —

Of course it was His obedience to the cross, that provided the one sacrifice able to cleanse us of our sins.

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:19

You are reading this verse as if it were the only verse in the Bible. You must learn to read what scripture says in the light of the context.

If you divorce yourself from the surrounding context that the Holy Spirit through Paul has given us to understand then, you divorce yourself from the reality of what God is desiring to teach us.

His obedience gives us access to His grace.

His obedience provides a way for us to partake of His life.

We must act in obedience to gain what His obedience has provided for us, which is access to be a partakers of; eternal life, salvation, a new nature, a new life in Christ.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2

  • Access by faith.

Do you understand what “justification by faith” means and how it works?

If you don’t understand the principal of how “justification by faith“ works, then you will continue to misunderstand large parts of the Bible.

Do you know what “justified by faith” means?

It was what Paul was sent by Jesus Christ to bring to the Gentile world.

No one is saved apart from believing and obeying the Gospel.

His obedience of one made many righteous Rom 5:19!

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:19

Do you believe verse 19 is somehow isolated from the rest of Romans?

How about this part of verse 19 —

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners...

Do you believe that man can continue in disobedience yet somehow be righteous; right with God?

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. Romans 5:19

  • Made righteous = justified

His obedience has gained us access to grace, to God, to salvation...

What must we do to obtain the salvation His obedience has given us access to?

No it's not isolated but it is in the same context. Why don't you believe it? According to Rom 5:19 how many obediences are stated to make many righteous?

Question. How many disobediences did it take to make many sinners according to Rom 5:19?

The only way a person is justified by faith is by obedience;
the obedience of faith.

Jesus paid the price for our sins by His obedience to the cross.

The way we access the justification, and salvation that He paid for 2000 years ago, is by believing, and therefore obeying the Gospel.

Do you agree?

If not then please explain.
