Why do people make false accusations?

- Through ignorance
- Out of spite/anger/malice
- To advance their interests or the interests of a third party
- Due to mental illness, temporary delusions or intoxication
- As an interrogative technique
- To deflect blame or responsibility

I think most reasons fall into one or more of those?

In Greek, the word for false accuser is 'diabolos'.

But Romans 8 says, gloriously, about believers in the Lord Jesus: 'Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies'.

People make false accusations if you have hurt them or they feel threatened by you.

How to avoid this is try to build people up or make them feel good about themselves in some way from meeting with you. When you are not present there words about you might be nice ones.

The worst thing to do to people is argue with them and try to project your correctness and superiority over them to make them feel less than you. That is when people begin the process of accusations and retaliation.
