[__ Prayer __] FC Barcelona cries out unto God...an Injured player

Classik

Member
How stupid does it sound to pray for an injured player? Not stupid at all! They are human beings.

FC Barcelona weeps!:crying :crying4 :sad
Please pray for David Villa 7. The darling striker, David Villa, whom Barcelona FC loves was injured in a match today against Al-Sadd, in the FIFA Clubs World Cup.

Villa does not desrve this at all...not now we are looking up to him for miracles. He is such a vulnerable fellow, a lovely dude that changes things positively.

I wish I could take the pain for him:sad

The team encourages Villa

www.fcbarcelona.cat

The squad that travelled to Japan met with David Villa after his stay at hospital to show him their support

Barça’s 7 was encouraged and in good spirits

Villa's arrival to the hotel

David Villa felt the affection that his teammates have for him after he returned to the hotel from his hospital visit. In a wheelchair and with a heavily bandaged left leg, El Guaje was encouraged while he received the support from his team. The Director of the Sport Area, Andoni Zubizarreta and Pep Guardiola made it a point to stay and chat with the striker.

Villa will be out of action for four to five months because of a fractured tibia sustained in the game against Al-Sadd. In the coming hours he will return to Barcelona, via Frankfurt, to undergo surgery.

Re: FC Barcelona cried out unto God...an Injured player

I've been so sad ever since:sad
I think this is FC barcelona's worse season - so many injured players. Ibrahim Afelley 20 isn't fine yet. We nearly lost Carles Puyol too. I keep wondering why all clubs employ a tactical taekwendo against FCB. Must people do karate to challenge FCB?:dunno :shrug

I can't rest, food tastes like venom, can't converse with friends - just thinking Villa.

Classik, you need to delete some PM's from your In-Box. I made the change you asked me to, but I couldn't return the PM to let you know.

Sorry about the injuries. I've prayed for them and for you. I'm a big sports fan and all, but this does seem like an extreme reaction. Would you be so distraught if this were someone else like an actor that you knew only from TV? If someone was diagnosed with cancer or lost a child, okay. But and injury causing such depression for you? :shrug

Thanks a lot, Mike. I'll get better; I'm getthing better...so would Villa 7

The mails in my In-box are very precious to me. Deleting a mail from my In-box is like deleting President Obama's phone number:D (Perhaps we need more space)

FCBing is more than a family, a big one. When I saw Villa fall I knew something was really wrong. I saw another tragedy:sad His depression was written all over his face. I read that face, the visage

Villa has been struggling to impress the club...his performance has been in its low ebb (I strongly believe he'd improve more...though his last season was not quite impressing. Some seasons are like that for some players). Now that he is gradually beginning to pick up he has been struck with this alarming fatality. The worst case scenario is '6 months'. And even after being declared 'fit' he'd need about a month or so to regain his Villism: soccer fitness, mental and emotional fitness etc.

Playing in FCB is like entering the Promised Land. Many people struggle to make it there. Some would want to remain bench-warmers - provided they've been listed as FCB players they are merry.

Prolonged injury kills a player (mentally and emotionally and physically - they all regain fitness).
Puyol had a terrible injury and was secluded for over five months. We missed him like a baby would miss the mother's breastmilk. Affeley is not fine yet.

Now Villa's absence is like the absence of an entire squad on a field. He'd be fine - sure - but how soon does a player regain soccer fitness? Resilience!

If you are looking for hardworking and vulnerable people in the world, Villa is one.

Puyol was brought down too and was carried out. Stars shot out from my eyes. I was glad and still am he was able to puyol back into the field himself.

It was taekwando.

I'm good at absorbing people's pain. That is one of the reasons I hate hospitals. Thank God that God does not have a hospital in heaven.

Thanks, Mike! Thanks my Mic!

Alexis doubtful for final with muscle injury

One of yesterday's substitutes, Alexis Sánchez, was also missing after tests revealed that he has slightly strained the abductor in his left leg, making him doubtful for Sunday's final against Santos. Yesterday he came on as a replacement for David Villa, but later had to leave the field again, to be replaced by Cuenca.

After 11 minutes, Andreu Fontàs couldn’t pick himself off the Reyno de Navarra pitch. The look of pain on his face sounded the warning alarms on the Barça bench. The first medical exam was administered after the medical staff carried the defender off the field. It pointed to an injury of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the right knee. Further tests at the University of Navarra Clinic confirmed all suspicions: the player sustained a torn ACL. Fontàs will undergo surgery to correct the injury in Barcelona in the coming days.

His teammates took to Twitter immediately to show their injured colleague their support:

Gerard Deulofeu : “Congratulations hake @SergiRoberto10! Be encouraged @fontas24! Great game today.â€

Pedro Rodríguez is the most important addition to the Barça squad that faces Malaga on Sunday at La Rosaleda. Nine days after pulling a hamstring in Pamplona, the striker has been declared fully fit and is back in the side.
Like for the cup game in Madrid, the coaching staff have drawn on the services of B team players Isaac Cuenca, Sergi Roberto and Jonathan dos Santos.
So the only missing players are the injured Fontàs, Villa and Afellay, plus Keita, who is away at the African Nations Cup...

On Villa: “He is doing very wellâ€

The doctors were also asked about David Villa’s progress with his injury (fractured tibia). “He’s doing really well and he’s working. For the moment, everything is going according to plan, his recovery is great - but it’s too early to set a return date,†said Dr. Cugat. He went on to say that Afellay, who is recuperating from a long-term injury, is also doing “very well.†The doctor concluded with, “starting this February he’ll begin his recuperation on the field.â€

"He’s been in high spirits since the beginning and he isn’t afraid of dealing with a long recovery time"

The player Andreu Fontàs underwent knee arthroscopy surgery this morning to correct the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The surgery was led by doctors Ramon Cugat and Ricard Pruna, the player’s estimated recovery time is six months.

Once Dr. Cugat and Dr. Pruna completed the procedure, they held a joint press conference in the pressroom of the Ciutat Esportiva to explain the details of the operation.

“In high spiritsâ€

Pruna said that Fontàs is in high spirits despite the gravity of his injury. “Frankly, he’s dealing with it well. He’s been in high spirits since the beginning and he isn’t afraid of dealing with a long recovery time ,†said Dr. Pruna. The doctor went on to say that “he already had a corrective surgery, when he broke his fifth metatarsal in his foot. He was out of action for three months.†The past injury, according to the doctor, has mentally helped the player deal with his current injury.

Dr. Pruna went on to say that the player will be out of action for sex [sic] months, “we hope to have him fit for the preseason.†Dr. Cugat added, “the doctor isn’t in charge, it’s the player’s injured knee†that will set the recovery time.

It’s worth noting that Fontàs injured his knee on the 12th, Thursday, during the first half of the last 16 round of the King’s Cup match against Osasuna

Pedro injured, Alexis travels to Villareal

(ALEXIS SANCHEZ: Has a shoulder injury and should be out two weeks)

The Barça team travelling to Castellón to play against Villareal in tonight’s league match had a few surprises before their train left Sants Estació. Pedro Rodríguez will miss the match due to injury and Alexis Sánchez will be at El Madrigal.

Injured during yesterday’s training session

According to the team’s Medical Services, at the end of Friday’s training session, Pedro was having problems. The tests confirmed that the player has a contraction in the abductor of his left thigh. He will miss the match against Villareal and his availability will depend on his recovery.

On a better note, Alexis is responding favourably to treatment and is recovering from his acromioclavicular injury sustained in this Wednesday’s Clásico. The Chilean was a last-minute addition to Guardiola’s team for tonight’s match.

Is this really what we think God would have us focus on? We are to love our neighbor as ourself, neighbor being everyone. So it is good to feel such empathy, but such empathy, such pain, and such emotion just over a sports team or athlete, I feel this is too much...only IMHO. We are supposed to be in this world but never of this world. We are to hate the things of this world, and be as aliens in a strange land. I cant think of anything in this day and age that is more worldly than sports, and to be this obsessed and effected by an athlete and sports I have to say I dont see how it can be from god at all but more likely a plan from Satan himself.

I am sorry if I upset you, but know I will be praying for you, but it will have nothing to do with soccer, I pray God works in your heart.

Thanks for your input. (But if you've never been in soccer or been a fan then you have no idea what being a fan/player is all about):lol

This ball thing has really improved my life and has brought me closer to people - responsible people. (It has healed me emotionally and physically and socially). I know the Classik I used to be...until I discovered :bounceball

My family and friends have been showing some signs of great delight ever since. It's as if to say: 'Wow! Classik, doing soccer! Incredible!'

They are now more comfortable (family, relatives and friends) with this version of me.

Perhaps you need further clarification, pls let me know, I will do the rest in a PM
