I'll definitely follow this thread in case I can actually finish a lyric, but so far I don't know or am not familiar enough with all the lyrics/bands listed. Dang!

I never listen to song lyrics. :( And I'm no native speaker, so I have disadvantages understanding them anyway.

What is your favorite version? The one done by Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels, or Shinedown?

I honestly had not heard this song until this past year when I first heard Shinedown do a cover of it, then I started hearing the original all the time on the radio.
