Not believed but accepted. Accepted because repeated testing confirms the method is valid and accurate for thousands of years. If you don't want to accept reality that is your business.

Christianity makes promises from which no one can get a refund if not true. There is no one to make sure the promises and claims are real. Prayer can be answered three ways. yes no or not now but somehow whatever happens it is the answer to the prayer. Yet you make assertions that those who accept what they see and is proven are somehow gullible by accepting hard facts and hard evidence. How do you do that? I know, with faith which is the evidence of things not seen.

Don’t you mean hardly facts and hardly evidence? The hard facts are written in stone and attest to the finger of a ingenious creator who buried the previous world under water, repopulated the present one with an arkful of survivors and keeps all of nature in such perfect intricate balance that both evolutionists and creationist can only marvel. There is none so blind as he who refuses to see.

I accept facts the way most people do. I either observe first hand or I look at testamony from others. Then I look at the credibility of those doing the testifying and if needed the numbers of those doing the testifying. Then I might look at what is being testified too. If it is too outlandish to still be believable then I will hold that testimony until I witnessed it myself. I would do the same with claims made in other subject areas.

Hell doesn't exist except in the Christian religion and those it copied from. Eternal life doesn't exist except in the belief of the Christian religion. If I forgive others I also forgive myself and whether God forgives me the jury is still out as to his existance. Hinduism is another religion that has given much to Christianity but any claims of evidence for the hereafter are sorely lacking. Hinduism is also the OLDEST religion and if you like you can compare the similarities here.\
