Geocaching

wwjd_kilden you must need to be a premium user, and this is too new to me to commit to $6/month. I'll see how this goes.

Must be a premium member to do what? I was a geocacher for over a year before becoming a premium member,
and when I first started I had neither a smartphone nor a GPS, we just printed the map with the caches and wrote down the hints :p

You have waaaaaaay too much time on your hands......
Would you say the same to someone doing i.e. orientation? It's part pastime, part getting out, part learning (most geocache owners write facts out the place where the cache is)

To connect as "friends". I can find them and register my finds, but I can't connect with you as you suggested. As far as these things go, $6/month is pretty steep. I thought it would be a one-time charge like most premium app charges. If I stay into it for a while, I'll consider premium, but I don't want to do that just yet.

Oh.That's weird. Maybe it works the other way around if you give your GC nick?
I do have a friend there who isn't a premium member, don't remember how we connected.

Yeah, it's expensive. I only intended to do it for a year, then suddenly my parents started geocaching so they updated my membership while getting their own (lucky me!) :D

Should I i have people walking all over looking for Navy History and old history ?

That's not why they'd be looking. They'd only be there if the app showed something hidden there.

Bah,you don't know locals. My route pic thread was inspired by one local who drives around photographing popular spots, history as well.

I'm saying Geocachers won't be there for geocaching is there isn't something hidden there. Other people, I don't know.

Here they just log in a hidden log that is buried.

wwjd_kilden I've got our 18 daughter into this, and that's something. There aren't too many things that bring a 50 year old guy and an 18 year old girl together. We went caching last night and hit a few tonight. All but one were all in parking lot lamppost covers, and one we couldn't find. I really want to find something different. Have you found any that were uniquely planted?
