Glad I found this Forum

I didn't realize this forum existed until today. I had the "other" Christian Forum, the one that ends in .com on my Favorites list until today when I removed it.

Why did I run from the "other" forum? Because after posting my views of the Obama "coming out" speech, most of those who responded argued that there is nothing wrong with homosexual marriage or homosexuality, generally. Without using the words, they saw me as a narrow minded bigot. OK. I can live with that name. But I couldn't live with their company and their blasphemous views.

My background, short version: As a child, Easter/Christmas Catholic; Presbyterian Christian in my 40's; two semesters in a conservative seminary (good place to stress your faith); Mormon for a few years a few years ago; currently church hunting; attended several Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Episcopal, Independent and Catholic churches over the previous year. Will avoid feel good rock band churches, liberal churches, and any church that teaches the Bible as if it is a history book disconnected from today's cultural challenges. Seek a church that has a reverent/worshipful service, and where the leadership, denomination, and parishioners have a desire and make an effort to connect Scripture with current lives and current events.

Welcome to CFnet (again)! :wave

I believe what you say is true. We shouldn't be unwilling to take a stand on the Truth. Having not seen your discussions on the other board, I'll just say we draw the line between stating biblical truth on homosexuality and slamming the homosexual. We don't allow slang references to them or mocking of them. It's with compassionate Christ-like love that we affirm the truth of a sinful lifestyle and a better Way, while encouraging fellow Christians not to compromise that truth.

I don't suspect that you would cross that line, but it needed to be said. :)

I agree with the admin, i am gay but im not a practicing gay. I only live my life for Christ and yes many gays and non gays alike will slam you for not agreeing with them but then again if you approached as Jesus would of i dont think there would of been such an issue.
