I didn't realize this forum existed until today. I had the "other" Christian Forum, the one that ends in .com on my Favorites list until today when I removed it.
Why did I run from the "other" forum? Because after posting my views of the Obama "coming out" speech, most of those who responded argued that there is nothing wrong with homosexual marriage or homosexuality, generally. Without using the words, they saw me as a narrow minded bigot. OK. I can live with that name. But I couldn't live with their company and their blasphemous views.
My background, short version: As a child, Easter/Christmas Catholic; Presbyterian Christian in my 40's; two semesters in a conservative seminary (good place to stress your faith); Mormon for a few years a few years ago; currently church hunting; attended several Baptist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Episcopal, Independent and Catholic churches over the previous year. Will avoid feel good rock band churches, liberal churches, and any church that teaches the Bible as if it is a history book disconnected from today's cultural challenges. Seek a church that has a reverent/worshipful service, and where the leadership, denomination, and parishioners have a desire and make an effort to connect Scripture with current lives and current events.
