i believe that according to my bible Gods desire is to save men then also heal them and set them apart and also prosper them(this doesnt mean megawealth)

but we shouldnt be so poor all the time and not have a decent job.

wow. i will mark this date on my calendar lol. for once you have not given me any reason to have to prove you wrong!! tee hee hee!! ; )

you know i have much to say on this topic but never had a chance to get my scriptures all lined up as they are mostly in my head and i want to really lay it all out this time, plus the mega-drama going on at my house as posted in my trib thread. but speak my mind i will, and you know this lol!!

what. that is what the lord does he not?

unless you want to get into divine healing.

and that i will adress.as its part of the situation and things we are promised according to some.

Yes, this is very true! So send me all your money!!!!! I take cash, credit, checks, paypal, gift cards, and especially gifts of various kinds!

Thanks ya'll :wink3

i'll go ahead and throw out a little of my argument now. can't help myself lol. i will not be using anything from the Law unless i believe it was meant to have universal application, but i will be using psalms and proverbs, which are definitely NOT part of the Law.

Psalm 35:27:
Let them shout for joy , and be glad , that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified , WHICH HATH PLEASURE IN THE PROSPERITY OF HIS SERVANT.

The word "pleasure" here, transliterated as "chaphets", means TO DESIRE and TO TAKE DELIGHT IN ( Chaphets - Old Testament Hebrew Lexicon - King James Version ). the Lord DELIGHTS IN and DESIRES the prosperity of His servants. This scripture ALONE makes that very clear. The word "prosperity" here is "shalom" which means more than just "peace." I will post the full strong's definition:

Strong's Number: 07965
Original Word Word Origin
~wlX from (07999)
Transliterated Word TDNT Entry
Shalowm TWOT - 2401a
Phonetic Spelling Parts of Speech
shaw-lome' Noun Masculine
Definition:
completeness, soundness, welfare, peace
completeness (in number)
safety, soundness (in body)
welfare, health, prosperity
peace, quiet, tranquillity, contentment
peace, friendship
of human relationships
with God especially in covenant relationship
peace (from war)
peace (as adjective)

As we can plainly see, shalom includes completeness (complete is COMPLETE!! nothing missing, nothing broken!!), safety (see psalm 91 for just how well He will protect you!!), soundness in body (health!!), and prosperity (material security!!). God does not change. He has ALWAYS desired shalom for His people and He always will!!!

yes, your understanding of the character of God and His goodness is showing great signs of improvement young grasshoppa...tee hee hee hee hee hee hee!!!

you said He wants to save men and heal them. how does that differ from divine healing? <scratches head inquisitively>

do keep in mind that i merely forgot this, that i was taught this a long time ago.

its my testimony!

because why would Paul have to say that when he prayed for the healing of timothy and was grievous unto death with much sorrow and that timothy was healed by the mercy of God.

that cast much doubt on the always gonna be healed line of thinking (if thou hast the faith).

i wasnt arrogant in that statement, i hope.

we often forgot things from time to time.

and yes you do remind me of the forgotten things.

btw everyone, i use various terms of endearment with all my friends. hope no one takes me calling jason "dear" the wrong way. that was just a little dose of his own sarcastic medicine anyway lol ; )

Here's me laying on a couch in a therapist's office..

"And then Jason said... :shocked!"

Where did this come from, Jason?

Hi, Faith. :waving It's been a long time. No, I'm not going to get into this discussion again. :-) I'm just chiming in to react to Jason's 180 on the subject. I mean... this came out of no where.

no, i always believed this. you are making the mistake i did with jenn.

when i came to the lord this is how i was.

couldnt hold a job. i was kicked out the army, even though the guard took me.
had no car.
lived with mom and dad till i moved back to the state of la. there i joined the guard
didnt socialise well with women or men at times
full of anger
occultic
the bi thing

i came to god to overcome this stuff as i wanted really hard to change.
in less than two yrs(not always the case and this was gradual)
had car
had held a job for more then a yr(save mcds)
in less then 10
college
marriage
improved by soldiering skills

i didnt ask for the old plymouth reliant.

God told me i would have one. and i didnt believe but he told me where to go and also that on march of 1998 i would have one.

and it came to pass.

and a ton of more

you all only know the tip of the iceberg on what God has done for me.

trust me!
i mainly talk about my bi thing but that is so little of what i was, and the hurts and anger etc.

Hey Mike!! nice to see you again too!! great to be back on cf!! and wherever there's prosperity talk, you know you'll find me there lol : )

jason is right though, he always knew these things to be true, i think he just got so turned off by all the FALSE prosperity and blessing teachings that he shunned it almost entirely for a while. there IS a lot of false doctrine on prosperity out there, but there's also a lot of biblical backing in regard to God's desire to prosper us. the Word tells us to be moderate, or balanced, in all things and prosperity is no exception. my pastor preaches prosperity but never without warning of its pitfalls. as i was saying to jason earlier, money is a GREAT TOOL in the hands of a cheerful giver. without it we cannot feed the poor or send out missionaries or do almost any other work of the kingdom. i think everyone can agree that the more we can get these things done, with the necessary use of money, the better. its the LOVE of money that's the root of all evil, and you can commit THAT sin without a dime to your name!!!

Good to have you back. We'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't have the stamina (or the desire) to get into long debates anymore. :lol

See ya around!
:yes

mike. read what i sent you.

you will then understand what this post is all about more or less.
