God the Father created Jesus

Jesus was "made of the seed of David according to the flesh" (Romans 1:3).

Jehovah does indeed have a Maker (Isaiah 45:11)

Are you suggesting that "Jehovah" (not really God's name) is Jesus but that there is another God above him?

Jesus said, "My Father is greater than I am" (John 14:28).

Do you believe in the Trinity?

For that doctrine states that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, are the same Spirit, the same Lord, and the same God (1 Corinthians 12:4-6); being distinct Persons within the Godhead.

Yes, the doctrine of the Trinity best takes into account all that God reveals about himself in Scripture.

I was appealing to the Jehovah's Witness who considers that "Jehovah" is God's name...

Declaring to him that, yes, Jesus has a Maker but that this does not preclude that He isn't YHWH.
