Good people don't last

One thing I don't understand is: 'Why is it that good people don't last?'
(Even good 'things' don't last - poeple find a way to abuse good 'things'...just like the Internet which has been messed up)

Even Christ left this place at an early age. I remember our loved ones who died very early. They were all good and lovely - very caring - servile.

I remember my good uncles who left;
I remember my good relatives who left. I miss my good neigbors. These were very successful people.

The bad ones don't die. They are everywhere!They are blessed with abundant life. Why?
All these ones that contaminate and corrupt this world, why can't they just go? :dunno :shrug :confused

The evil ones take half done persimmon but the teeth of the good people are set on edge.

I was with a cruel man yesterday. Hypocrites!!! Why should this hypocrite quote the bible for me? He was a big liar - he always is.

This is a generalization you can't make. There are many "good" people (by the world's standards) who live large. But, I see some of what you're saying.

It sounds cliche, but we are foreigners in a foreign world. This is not our home. I expect that I would not prosper well if I somehow arrived in another world.

John 18
35 “Am I a Jew?†Pilate replied. “It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?†36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.â€

1 Peter 2
"11 Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us."

Psalm 119
"<sup class="versenum" id="en-NIV1984-15916">17</sup> Do good to your servant, and I will live;
I will obey your word.
18 Open my eyes that I may see
wonderful things in your law.
<sup class="versenum" id="en-NIV1984-15918">19</sup> I am a stranger on earth;
do not hide your commands from me.
20 My soul is consumed with longing
for your laws at all times."

Light always overcomes darkness, so if this world is dark, it's because our light of Christ is not shining bright enough. This is our fault; not theirs. I know this is not an original though, but it's true.

Good people last. Jesus was different - he had a special purpose.

Maybe the right expression to use is: Good people don't stay long

Always unavailable when needed most

Paul said: 2 Timothy 4:7

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Maybe the people who went earlier are the ones who finished ealier.

And God probably keeps the evil ones alive so that they could later in life change positively.

(And what business does one have with this place when one must have finished all? Go home? It pains when they live when most needed):sad

Although the balance has begun to tip,I think we have more good people around than we realize.

The difference is the fact that what was once the good,general norm,is not celebrated,recognized or even noticed near as much anymore.

The paper is full of obituaries,robberies and murder.News broadcasts cover the latest wall street scandal and viral outbreaks.And as always the internet is rife with the latest wardrobe malfunction,celebrity porn tape or latest profane music.

Weve simply become a society that is more intrigued with the darker side of life.We thrive on drama.

The good people are out there..you just have to hunt a bit harder for that kind of news,as its simply not interesting anymore.Fathers still give up kidneys to save their son,cops still go above and beyond to clean the streets,and believe it or not there are still some feisty grandmas out there capable of chasing off a burglar with an 870.

Regardless of our personal beliefs or orientation I think most of us wish we could see more of that inherent goodness.I think if more of us got involved in events around us,we would.
