Honestly I think that one of the greatest sells was Metallica: Metallica
You might not be into a Heavy Metal music but it was one of biggest sells in few days.

Actually myself, I'm NOT into the 'Black Album' I only like the oldie stuff by Metallica but the thread was about which has been greatest popularity record and 'Black Album' sold 28 million copies and it was very popular and still are. Myself I love bands like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica (Old) and millions of NWOBHM bands and thrash metal band but those three are mine 'Big Three' that I listen to. I am a Christian and Heavy Metal guy with long hair, own band but other Christians might say that ' Heavy Metal is Satan's work' but I love it and it's music and my life.
