Just wanted to say thanks for having a forum where we can reach out to like-minded individuals and share our faith with all who are interested.

My only experience with sharing my faith online has been in a very hostile environment where several brothers and I spent most of the time fending off various attacks on faith and scripture...and though it was great spiritual exercise, it can become a bit taxing at times so I'm looking forward to having more Spirit-Filled discussions with other believers in what seems to be a more edifying environment. I'm also excited to debate various challenges and ideas where respect is held in high regard for all those involved.

God Bless!

Hi, how are you doing? good to see you here. God bless His Word to you.

Core, it's good to have you with us and I hope you find the environment here conducive to having good Christian fellowship. May God bless your time with us in Jesus' name. :waving

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Hi CORE,

I've found it a bit challenging, here, from time to time not to have those sparring conversations you mention. But, if we can use the occasion to step back, evaluate our motives, reach out with the hand that may be bitten from time to time, our joy in the Lord should grow. I think there is a special bond that grows between us and the Lord when we suffer in His name. The real danger lies in our own sins and if we allow bitterness to grow in the heart. Often times it is good to step away and think about how good God is. This will always build you up, and not with pride.

Colossians 3:12-17

New King James Version (NKJV)

Character of the New Man

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Sorry for the long quote, but I didn't know where to cut it.

Well said Davies...I think that's key - to step back, evaluate our motives, examine our lives and focus on the Glory of God. Thanks!

I for the most part was aware and understood the the various differences among christian assemblies, but I never had to deal with those differences directly, so this is all new to me. The hostile environment I mentioned in my initial post was dominated by atheists and I hardly ever debated Christians...in those types of environments the brethren tend to bond together despite differences...you have to.

I certainly find this forum more edifying and respectful in nature - as it should be.
