Greetings, I'm ProfessorChaos (not THE Professor Chaos, but a reasonable facsimile, in any event)

Hello All!

I suppose this is where I tell you a little about myself, my background, my goals, dreams, and ambitions, you all react with wildly positive responses to my obviously impressive entrance to this fine site, and we all live happily ever after, eating Oreos (dipped in milk, of course), and discussing topics of various and dubious importance.

Well, even at the risk of throngs of approving members rushing to get involved, here goes.

Due to the nicknaming convention of internet forums, let's just say my name is ProfessorChaos, I was born and raised in the Boston area, write books (though I do NOT make an actual living from that. I work in a warehouse to pay my bills), and was raised Roman Catholic.
I left the Catholic church when I was about 13 years old, when my Grandmother couldn't properly explain to me the reasoning behind CCD classes (it's a humorous story, and maybe I'll tell it sometime). With my back turned to God for the next five years, I acted like any average teenager (I.E. I did a bunch of stupid stuff).

At the age of 18, after reading of the Bible, fairly extensively, on my own, I eventually gave myself over to Christ.

That was almost 21 years ago, and though I have slipped (haven't we all?), my faith has remained intact.

I am the father of three boys (21, 15, and 23 months), and the husband of an extremely loving, and tolerant wife (I thank God for her quite a lot, though not every moment of every day, as there are times when I'd like to throttle her, but I say that with love).

I'm not perfect, and I'm thankful for the fact that I'm aware of that, otherwise, I wouldn't be much of a Christian.

Hopefully, this is enough of an introductory post (I've never really introduced myself on a forum before), but either way, I'm glad to meet you all!

Greetings Professor Chaos,

Welcome. I am relatively new here myself. Glad to hear you are a Christian and have decided to get involved with other believers. Hope to see some posts of yours soon.

Since "chaos" implies chaotic, you might want to add a modifier to you handle since Christians are to be the opposite of chaotic.

Welcome, Professor ... glad you've joined us here!

When I initially read your choice of user name, the first thought that popped into my head: Ian Malcolm's Chaos Theory (from Jurassic Park). Interesting how the mind works sometimes, isn't it.

It's great to have you join us in Christian fellowship. Hopefully you are blessed in your time with us in Jesus' name.

Good evening, Professor Chaos...and welcome to the forum. :)

Just in case there's someone here who doesn't know who Professor is, here he is

Thank you all, for the kind welcome.
I frequent various forums throughout this miasmatic conglomeration of opinions that we call 'the internet', and quite frankly, I was growing weary of the torrent of ill will towards God, and (more specifically) Jesus, that permeates it, due to the "informed" opinions of the self-procalimed 'enlightened' among those that utilize it.

What I'm trying to say is, I needed to see that I wasn't alone, because it was starting to feel that way.

Hello Professor Chaos, how do you do?
I'm Rollo.
I roam the Lounge forum.
I hope to be hearing from you soon.

Welcome! Would you like to go for a ride with me some time in my TARDIS?

:) I read a testimony of modern day translation before. Actually a few of them, they're all over you tube. A guy was starting out on a 4.5 hour drive to a church where he was to be a guest speaker. He got on the freeway, he was talking on the cell phone and a portal opened in front of him. He screamed and dropped the phone and suddenly he was driving down the street of the church where he was to speak at...just like that. He called his friend back (who thought he got in an accident from his scream) and told them what happened. Pretty cool stuff. I believe it. God translated people in the old days...does not change...so why wouldn't he continue to do the same now?
