Hate

How do you deal with people who hate you and try to cause trouble for you?

I'm very happpy no one hates me. I doubt if the devil does. I think he's just worried. lol

If people hate you buy them pizza and go tell them you are sorry (note you won't give your offering until the problem is settled)

Sometimes, you gotta take a stand. That's what I think, anyway. We're not to be wrathful, but justice and standing for Truth is different from being wrathful. I once had to take a shrink to the state medical board for this reason--pursuit of justice, for me and other patients.

If the hate comes from non-Christians or Atheists (no offense), I count it as a sign that I'm doing something right. (If I stand up for something, inevitably someone is going to get offended.) I'd be more troubled that they won't even consider what I've said more than that they're mudslinging on me. If the people are opposed to you for that or a political reason anyways, it's annoying but not so much hurtful.
I'm not saying to stoop to their level or anything. Be kind and forgiving anyways. It says a lot about your character.

For someone who is actively trying to cause trouble--yeah, that is hard. Especially if it's an angry friend or a family member.
If you can't deal with it calmly or reason with them, try to ignore it. Give yourself something else to do.

If you see hate look below the surface and find out why it is there.

Hatred has never once been a cure for hatred.

If you want to disarm hatred you combat it with love.

Very true. Most people expect you to treat them unkindly when they treat you unkindly. If you use love as your tool, that really does surprise them.

We have the perfect role model to follow in Jesus, and a book with an enormous amount of information in it to guide us. As a Christian, aren't we are suppose to be using Jesus as our role model? What would he do in the situation where people are trying to cause trouble?

Was this a question you were asking for yourself, Elijah, or were you just trying to start a thread on this topic?
