Have you ever been banned from a forum?

Yes. :verysad
LOL WW, who banned you sis ? Why on earth would anybody ban you :lol

I have been banned once, because I asked the mods on a forum to stop humiliating one member in public. They actually deleted his posts, one after the other, and did not allow him a voice. (The rules said NEVER to address the transgression of a mod on the forum) But me and this member tried to talk to admin and we both were ignored. So I took the matter to the forum and posted it in a few threads . Well I live in Africa, so they were sleeping and HAD to deal with the matter the next morning :lol I knew of course that I would be banned, but that was OK.
On this forum, when I said something like "The Lord spoke to me" , one of the mods would answer "OHHH beam me up Scotty !!!! " I don't know if they were all of some strange denomination, (I think somebody did say they were)

I know of one of the members on this forum that were banned on the same forum about two months ago LOL. She is the nicest person and never posts anything rude. But she must have stepped over one of their lines.

No, but I have quit several.

The worst of which, sadly, was a Christian one. The mods allowed 2-3 very liberal members to "take over", IMO, and it ruined many good threads. They don't even have the political forum open on that site anymore.

On a side note, thanks to the mods here who I think do a good job. They let people run on a long leash to express opinions but have stepped up and banned undesirables who were being disruptive. :clap

I've had some posts deleted (in a forum of a game I played- there was some pretty bad censorship going on and the general forum populace kind of revolted against the moderators to try to get things back to being reasonable :oops ), but I've never been banned.

I was banned from a forum when I wouldn't stop disputing anti-religious and anti-God posts made by members there. Religious topics weren't alowed....unless they were bashing religion, lol.

I have also quit several where liberal bias took over. None of these were christian forums, but martial arts and firearms related.

No loss.

Yes I have, a Linux forum where me and the owner got into a tiff and the head mod banned me. I did apologize to the owner because I was in the wrong.

Armor of God sounds like a forum I'm still a. :)

I have never been banned on a forum, but on one secular forum, I made a lot of women angry because I mentioned that when my cat had kittens, I drowned them. To these women, this meant that I was a cruel man. But out in my rural area, this is standard procedure.

I had an interesting experience on an interactive Christian bulletin board once. I was discussing a Christian issue with the members, and suddenly realized that no one was able to read my replies. Then it came out that my replies were being blocked because I was perceived to be a "threat to the unity of the brethren."

Since when is it acceptable to drown little kitties? Sorry, mister--that's warped.

Back to the original question. Yes, I recently was banned from another site. A moderator there abused his power against me and I (privately) called him out on it. But that's neither here nor there.

Yup, that's me :shame (I didn't know you were on that forum, Cornelius?) They might have been free masons. What a mess that place was. Mental. I left that place drained as opposed to the enlightenment I get from people here :)

Yes, the moderators here are the best examples of how people should be as leaders.

not that i would do that but a few years ago say 25 yrs ago that was done a lot, Piadon is of that era, he's not that first to say that. back to topic

i left a forum because i felt it was so hostile, both sides of the aisle argued and called each other names and it was higly unproductive.

banned from a forum? Nope, not even close. Ironically enough, I've made statements on forums that were so blunt that I expected to get banned, only to have enough people agree with my point that I've wound up on the staff :)

To date, I have been a moderator at about a half dozen different sites; two for Christianity, one for online fraud prevention, two for video production (It's what I do), and a small local site for some friends to keep in touch. I recently was re-added to the mod team of my favorite site. I had taken a break from the site for about four years, as life was busy and I felt that it just wasn't where God wanted me. There are some trust issues from some stuff that took place during my hiatus that need to be worked through, but everyone there has a good heart so I'm confident we'll get 'er back to her former glory.

But enough thread derailing! On the thought of bans, there are really two types of ban: the temporary and the permanent. Personally, I almost wouldn't count a temporary ban as being "banned from a forum", since going into the mods are already planning to let you back in. I've used those in the past to give someone a few days to relax if they're going off the handle over nonsense. Some folks get into forum posting like it's a full contact sport, and for those folks a short furlough can be a good thing. You just have to be sensitive with how you approach it, so they don't get more wound up when they return from their vacation.

As evidenced by posts above, sometimes banning happens to good people. But don't worry, it happens. You're still an awesome person. Deal with that, why dont'cha? :D
