Haven't been praying or reading the bible

The kingdom of God cometh not with observation, neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Brock's soul being in danger here. Psalm 119 is our Rx!
Also meditating on John 3:14; if you want to pick just one verse, that's a goodun'. The thought concludes by v 21.

That depends what you mean about his soul being in danger since works aren't what saves us and brings us our salvation. However, without prayer and reading and abiding by the Word of God, it is in danger of getting further away from Him.

Explain to me how my soul is in danger.

I have lived on this planet probably over 3x as long as you have, and of that time I've been trying to follow the Lord for probably two of your lifetimes. I'm simply telling you how it works.

There is no end to various authors trying to describe this phenomenon, and you've already experienced it for yourself, saying it felt weird to read the Bible again. That "weirdness" is the process of Salvation!

Either we are conformed to this world, (a very bad thing for the Christian) or we transform into a new creation by renewing our minds. Romans 12 makes this excruciatingly clear, and you apparently forgot.

We do that!

We also have an enemy that likes to go around plucking the good seed out of us before it ever has a chance to grow.

We are all vulnerable when we neglect so great a Salvation ...
