Heaven guaranteed !?

Yup. The believing that changes a person into someone who does the will of the Father has the promise of entering into the kingdom:

"21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. " (Matthew 7:21 NASB)

Actually this is how it works.

Romans 2
13 (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified;

.
take your pick - Jn.20:31 or Romans 2 - but either way know the law as at [Hell's best kept secret] - let go and come home to the good news - twinc

As Gary and Jethro have already pointed out it goes a little farther than just believing in Jesus. Satan and his minions believe but somehow I doubt they'll ever be allowed back into heaven. One must believe on Jesus. In other words, put your faith and trust in Him which becomes manifest in how we act, live, talk, walk, etc.

This reminds me a little bit of a thread I started a while back called "Is everyone given a chance?" I was basically asking if everyone is given the knowledge that Jesus is the one true God, or if only some people are depending on their circumstances. I believe that Jesus reveals Himself to everyone and it is up to each person to follow Him or not. Check out the link below. It has some good scripture to go with it.

Jeff...I read some RCC stuff on that...something about how people who aren't presented with The Good News are judged according to how well they cooperated with The Holy Spirit's guidance in their lives or something like that. Reading over that thread, some posters seem to have come to the same conclusion...

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Without doubt man is the only part of creation that is naturally spiritual in some sense. According to a story I was told, during WW2 there was a tribe of indigenous people in the Philippians formally undiscovered, and they had seen a US fighter plane fly overhead, they made a similar replica of it and were worshiping it. I personally believe if what one is shown such as Israel were, the line upon line, and precept upon precept is forthcoming.

Are you referring to isolated groups of people like native tribes in the Amazon or something that falls into that category? I think Romans 1:20 talks about that. One of the reasons I ask that question back then is because I had become frustrated about witnessing to some people I knew that had some difficult questions about whether Jesus is real or not and others that ask me to show how all the events that took place in the Bible were real. I think there is plenty of archeological evidence to support Biblical events and there are many ways to see evidence for Jesus being real. While these things are important it is good to know that we can not fail to reveal the existence of God/Jesus because He does that. I think our part is more about letting people see Christ work through us and sharing the Gospel than actually digging up historical and archeological evidence.

good points. In one of my classes at Liberty, we had to write about how we know Christ is real. We had a couple options...one was all the historical stuff...I chose "because of changed lives," something like that. I think Christ's ability to truly transform His people is the #1 proof of His existence, personally. Given how we're all slanted away from God and Christ until our eyes and ears are opened, I don't think archeological evidence and historical evidence will do a whole lot for nay sayers and unbelievers who are hardened in their sins.

Believing That Jesus Christ went to the cross for us and excepting Jesus as ourt savour is what makes it so.
The only reason any one will be turned away is becasuse they did not except Jesus as their lord and savour.

It goes a little farther then that.............
We ask Him into our hearts. We are born again into His kingdom.....We are going to heaven....As we reach out unto God or build our relationship with Christ then we begin to change and this reflects in our walk, talk and every area of our lives....Now if some one does not build their relationship up with God as much as most then this does not keep them out of Heaven. It limits what they have here in this life such as healing and blessings etc.

Some mention not hearers of the law but doers of the law..........asking Christ into your heart is doing........
Another uses this.......
but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. .........THE WILL of the Father is to BELIEVE in the one He sent...Jesus and if you believe in Him then you will of course ask Him into your heart......become born again and be heaven bound........

Asking Christ into your heart. You said by asking Christ into your heart, you are a doer of the Law. The only way this can be is if "asking Christ into your heart" is a part of the Law.

So is it?
.

Actually Gary that was from your post #3 where you said .Actually this is how it works.

Romans 2
13 (for not the hearers of the laware just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified;

Dear Brother Fish Catcher Jim, I think the following shows Who it is that is doing the work
Joh 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
Blessings in Christ Jesus. :wave2

this is exactly what Jn.20:31 says viz that everything that is written is written so that we may[continue] to simply simply believe that Jesus is the saviour and the son of God and simply simply believing we may have life in His name - btw it seems you have not yet heard the really good news which even Bishop John had not really heard or realised until after his death and then he rejoiced and was glad in his saviour Jesus Christ - why not rejoice and be glad and praise now and not later - twinc
