This thread is so far away from the topic and since I tried to bring it back once, so I'm not going to bother doing that again...

If anyone is wanting to talk about the original topic check out classik's thread "would we also labour in heaven?" that was close to what we were talking about before this train veered of the tracks, turned into a moped, and took a dive into the Mariana Trench.... Carry on, you have my blessing.
Lol.I'm done.I have been posting in that thread

I think Revelation 21 and Revelation 22:1-5 is pretty clear. There will be a new heaven and new earth and the new earth will be where the Throne of God will be. I think there is a clue that this will be physically located where the Garden of Eden was... due to the reference to the tree of life, which was in the Garden.

lol... I think we can think of "heaven" sort of like Air Force One. What ever plane the President happens to be flying is is designated as "Air Force One"... where ever the Throne of God is is heaven. I believe that the new heaven and the new earth will meet at the Throne and there will no longer be a barrier between the two places.

I really need to learn to read posts before posting in a thread. Here I opined, just to find that the trolley left the tracks and everyone has bailed!
:lol

that wouldn't be a jewish thought, now wouldn't?

lol... maybe. You'll have to tell me, you're far more up on Jewish thoughts than I am! :nod
I see that, actually I was looking at gills commentary. that is what he said, nearly. a mix of literally no sun, but also that the ordinance of old an no barrier.

the heavenlies and the earth met at the jewish temple, and tabernacle. now if that is a real temple or city, there shall be no barrier with god a man. either way. I do see that the temple or city is trying to show us how big God's glory is. yet how does God build a temple or city that can contain HIM? wherever we go , he is there.

Asking how God can build a temple or city that can contain HIM is like asking if He can make a rock so heavy He can't lift it... In the end, He chooses to make the Throne the place where we will see His face, so that is where He will be.

"Contained"? Not really, but at that place, in that eternal era, at least specific to us as His dwelling place.

I cant fathom that we can fully understand the body of an omnipresence God. that is what I meant. he has no shape that can be limited that doesn't have some presence in all places. yet it does imply a throne room.

With blessings.
Metaphysical - that is sort of biblical but not a word used.

Meta - I guess greater or beyond (spiritual implications).
Physical - Science / Creation (containing symbols / shadows pointing to spiritual, but not explained).

Eden - Physical place
Tree physical tree give never ending physical life. God evidently did not want sin to be eternal with him (in heaven or the garden).

So man ( made in a physical image) hardened his heart and turned his thinking toward carnality.

Romans 7: 25
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

The physical body / heart has the symbol of the crucified Jesus pacemaker promising to chance the stony heart to flesh. The word hidden in our heart reminds us of our fallen nature (confess sins and be changed).

The carnal mind gets the Mind of Christ. The physical cerebellum looks like the tree of life on either side of the river of spinal fluid. The spiritual fruits of the spirit are manifest in us to balance the body of Christ (physical fruit in Eden, but spiritual in the new Jerusalem - our body not made by anyone but God).

Eternal spiritual life will be beyond the taste of heaven we taste of here.

I use it mainly to juxtapose the physical realm with the spiritual realm. It basically mean spiritual.

First paradise then heaven.
Paratransven
Abraven

Alive in the natural
Into the grave ( except for Enoch, Moses, Elijah- which were taken, not ascended, into heaven).
Resurrection of dead and living caught up.
Judgment day (how long ?),
Eternal hell
Eternal heaven

I see through welding lenses now, but one day.......

Hebrews 6:5
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

IMHO, part of our present experience is the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven. Not yet able to enter heaven because the final resurrection and judgement throne have not yet taken place. The NC actions of Acts continue and progress to the final day. Our clothes now wear out and faith is more needed, but that is the difference in wilderness wandering and New Jerusalem. A taste where you can not tell the difference in : in body or out of body - dreams / visions Hebrews 6:5 above. We still have the flesh, but the mind has changed.

One day the taste goes and the reality begins.

The mind needs no sun or moon. The sun and moon are but shadows in this world. The realities are the Father and the Son that cast shadows back to. / coward to creation.

The greater light is the Father, and (IMHO) the lesser light is the Son.

The words of the Father became flesh and dwelt among men.

Through Holy Spirit the taste of heaven illumines the mind.

It is a little difficult to see the temporal value of the stages leading to the final reality. The temporal seems so real, but shadows are not the reality that cast shadows. An ox is not the reality, but paying the servant of God is.
