Hello all. An atheist with questions here.

Welcome to the forum. You would do well to understand that Christianity is a faith based belief. First, you seek God and put your trust (faith) into Him, and then, He will reveal Himself to you, and give you understanding. It is always of a personal nature, which can not be taken into a lab and be tested or proven. You will know it for sure, but on a personal level. If the Lord were to allow Himself to be proven and tested, then it would largely negate the provision of faith that He wants for us to have. If you truly seek Him, you WILL find Him. But not evidence.

And yet...there is evidence. It is all around and easily discernible to believers. But one Has to be willing to receive it. Your thinking reasoning mind and intellect will not help you to find God, for He is spiritually discerned.
