Hello Christian Forums

Hi.
I am Safiya.
I seek truth, I think and study a lot, I am a Christian, I don't go to Church.

I have been posting on Christian Internet Forums about four years now.
They have had their good moments and their bad.

I have become a bit lost over the past couple years.
Hope that you can bear with me :)

Safiya.

Hi Safiya and welcome to CF.net. I do hope you enjoy your time with us and become a regular poster. I will add that if you're a Christian you are in no way lost to God, and His work continues in all of us. May God bless this fellowship to your life and His glory in Jesus' name.

Thanks :)

I read through the ToS and agree.
However the SoF, I agree with everything except "eternal hell" and "trinity"
I believe the second death means the second death not eternal conscious torment.
"Trinity" I am working on (seeking truth).

Is that okay?

Thank you.
I have been through a difficult time.
I never stop thinking about God, but I feel lost and distant in prayer and things.
I know God is there.

Hi Safiya: Good to see you. Maybe your sense of loss and meaninglessness is related to something else you mentioned? You said you don't believe in the eternal punishment of sinners against a holy God. But if, as the Bible teaches, a holy God must punish sin, which can never be allowed to enter His holy presence in eternity, then maybe it's your conscience troubling you? The Bible says we may have 'peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ' if we are 'justified by faith' (Romans 5.1), which means that we acknowledge that we are sinners in His sight and by faith we trust in the sin atoning work of Christ at the Cross and the righteousness of God reckoned to all who love Him and trust Him for time and eternity.

Hi Farouk.

NO, my disbelief in "eternal conscious torment" is not the cause of my feeling distant to God.
I was extremely close to God WITH my personal beliefs regarding that issue.
And it was not just my personal belief, but it was revealed to me through prayer and asking.

I believe that a confusing relationship, and the breakup of it, and lack of faith regarding it, is the cause of my feeling distant.
I think it is more - I feel numb.
And I also feel I did wrong in God's eyes, and lack faith maybe in God's forgiveness? (perhaps)

Thanks for your post.

Safiya:

YW. I think is is good to consider verses such as Mark 9.44, Mark 9.46, Mark 9.48, Isaiah 66.24, because God does not go against what He says in His Word, the Bible. I hope you will be blessed in you Scripture reading.
