What words mean in their sentence and context is the usual way of figuring what the Bible is saying. (Put differently, historical-grammatical interpretation.)

Hermeneutics is the science and art of Biblical interpretation. It is a science because it is guided by rules. The art is in the application of the rules.

The Qualifications of an Interpreter:
One must be a Believer because correct interpretation requires the work of the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor 2:14-16
One must be filled with the Holy Spirit. Eph 5:18
One must possess a desire to know. Matt 7:7-8
One must be seeking to correctly interpret God’s Word. 2 Tim 2:15
One should have some spiritual education over a period of time. 1 Tim 3:6

Hermeneutics will often be overlooked or put down by the Charismatic folks.

Hermeneutics is not needed, being filed with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues is needed. Hermeneutics will ripe the faith out of the Word and any power.

God tells us how to study his Word. You need.

1) Filling of the Holy Spirit (Not this I got saved so I have the Spirit Baptist understanding, I am talking POWER ON here!!)

Joh_14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Who teaches? It's not Herman............... His name is the Holy Spirit. He will speak with you, Prompt you with this scripture comparing to that scripture. It will just come up from your spirit and you will just know. Sometimes He will just speak with you and why I keep something on me to write those things down. If your expecting to Hear from God, then you prepared to hear from God and keep it to examine later with the Word.

2) The Holy Spirit will bring to your attention "OTHER" Scriptures and compare Spiritual with Spiritual.

1Co_2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, (HERMENEUTICS) but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Everything must have something else to compare. Each scripture the Holy Spirit testifies as a witness to the other scripture. All things are established on having two or more witnesses. The way it's worded, what words used all matter and are perfect and exact. Without this people come up with all kinds of crazy things that don't even match the other things. The Word is perfect and everything is done in like things.

For example some think Abraham's bosom is a parable. They use human reasoning and Jewish folklore and some just want to remove hell out of the picture.

Mar 4:13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

The sower that Sows the Word is the Master Parable. By understanding that Parable, and understanding How Jesus told a Parable will show forth what all the other Parables look like and the key to understanding them all. You won't even recognize a Parable without knowing the Master parable. It starts with the Sower sowing the Word, "A Sower" went out to sow.

The Holy Spirit will show you what is to be compared to what and bring to your attention these things.

3) All Scripture must never, never, never be interpreted by themselves.

2Pe_1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

How many scriptures is of private interpretation? ZERO!!!

For example JOB.................. The only place in the Word of God that a man servers God but Job looses his children anyway. By taking the book of Job in a Private setting without the rest of the Word, People make God out to be a cold blooded murderer who made some deal with the devil that ended with Job's kids dead.

Deu_30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

By many scriptures and comparing we know It was Job that made a wrong choice and God had nothing to do with Job's problems. The Word of God is eternal and a whole, it's not chopped down into days where God changes one moment to the next.

4) No Scripture contradicts any other scriptures (Hypocrisy) No Scripture makes God a respecter of Persons

Jas_3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

If God healed one, then it's His will to Heal everyone else. God does not change or play favorites. God does not change period, ever.

Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Mal 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Mal 3:9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. (Not just the priest in the nation)

By understanding this with the Holy Spirit, you come to the quick conclusion that God never changed his mind on what stealing is.

5) Passage of scripture takes seeking and asking for understanding. If you don't, you might just get some surface meaning and miss the many layers of it's meaning.

Deu_4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
Pro_8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
Luk_11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Without seeking, knocking and asking............. just taking scripture based on what someone else taught, you can only be as right as the stuff your hearing. Understanding the Word takes some prayer time and seeking God. If you don't, your gonna have crazy doctrines in your life.

You don't need Hermeneutics, you need filled with the Holy Spirit and to build diligence in practice to put seeking God first in everything. You need to be able to hear the Holy Spirit and keep a clear conscience at all times in everything.

What child needs Hermeneutics in order for him or her to receive instruction to pull his/her hand out of the fire?
What lawyer or philosopher does not need Hermeneutics in order to be guided regarding the method of interpretation of language?

May a child learn or is that experience reserved for those who have been weaned?

Does it makes sense to advise others to transfer their dependence on the Holy Spirit and His guidance to the thoughts of other Godly men? It is not according to what the Holy Spirit said through a man, "As I follow Christ, so also may you follow me," that guides us through what could be a thorny issue between brethren? Some day it shall be that even prophecy will be done away with. What shall we do when knowledge no longer serves us? Shall we see face to face?

Until such time as we are mature, is it not possible to resist the need to burn down the fields that are white with harvest? What about those TARES who, when the time of Harvest has come, will be known for who they are? Shall we risk the wheat in our exuberance and refuse to wait? It is the patience of the saints that preserve them. That is the very same patience that the Word of Truth admonishes us to allow it to have "it's perfect work, that we be whole and complete, lacking nothing."

What shall we do if we see our brother sinning, committing an offense by saying something in words or manner that is not what we would personally choose? Shall we get our hoe and pull weeds? We may, but even as we toss those weeds into the fire, that they may be burned, it is good, in my sight and in God's to consider ourselves and to hate even the smell of the smoke that will arise.

What man is able to bridle the tongue and speak in a manner that causes others to know that it is not for his own sake but for the sake of others that he speaks? There is only one that I know whose name is Jesus. He alone, and none other. But what of us? Are we the man where the Scripture is given "here a little" and "there a little" ? Or is that the manner of a person still young and tender? Given to those who have only recently been weaned? Hermeneutics is needed for those who are in that tween teen time. The time that calls for watering, for pulling of weeds with care and for much waiting upon the Lord.

What man here knows to look to the sky and may tell when a storm is coming? If we can discern that, can we not discern the times and seasons of the days we live in even as we dwell with each other? Can we be caused to look up, to remain quiet and still, as we gaze upon Him who yearns to draw close to us, to gather us as a mother bird, her chicks to that place prepared under her wing, protected from the pinions that may prick?

You don't get saved by reading the Bible.

You get saved by hearing the Gospel preached under the power of the Holy Spirit and believing.

Peter preached under the power of the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. -

37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" 38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call." Acts 2:37-39


Jesus promised His disciples they would speak and witness with the power of the Spirit -

19 But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. Acts 10:19-20

You don't get saved by reading the Bible.

Ya, it never occurred to me to read any bible until I heard the anointed Word and got saved. Reading the bible was just not on my list of things to do.

Informed decision? Making some guy Called Jesus Lord and you get eternal life with God, Healed, all needs met, every sin removed based on what? Something you read out of a book?

It could be any book, we just don't believe everything we read.

The bible don't even make sense, no proof of being saved, nothing sent in the mail saying you have been accepted. You just don't read the bible to get the right information to be saved.

The Word says........... Blessed are the feet of those that spread the Gospel for Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God........... (Not reading it.)

It takes Power of the Holy Spirit to open hearts to believe something that makes no sense at all..................

Herman is not even involved in this. Herman has no ability to give this kind of faith.

It only makes sense to those given to hear.

Mat 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Mat 13:51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

The best Herman's in the World won't help someone understand if they don't have ears to hear. They could read it 100 times and still not get it, God could put up a neon sign and they still not understand or will it make sense to them.

Chicago Memorial Hospital for Children, My son was given that night to die, nothing else they could do, My son not responding to treatment. I don't doubt or can be moved, I got the evil report and just said I thank you Lord that you said with long life I'll sastify my son. I know you never fail, and always come through, I refuse this report, and by faith I will get a good report.

That next morning my son was suppose to be dead they could not find any cancer cells in his body. Not one, and kept him all day trying to figure out what happened.

No amount of scripture could I have told them to get it to make sense to them.

I have the report at home it says "Unexpected and sudden response to treatment."

You are blessed to have not been involved or seen what is not-so-affectionately called "Wild Fire" in Charismatic circles then. We must have those above us who are older and wiser and who are able to help us and guide us through the areas... those too often gray areas.... found in some groups called "religiosity" and others called "cults".

Paul was concerned and very vocal about that possibility and we too are ready to stand and contend one for another. Those who are over-comers may be given the task of becoming over-lookers especially regarding brothers and sisters called 'new to the faith'. Not "Lording it over" but instead as a good shepherd, as stewards, careful to build only on that one true foundation: Jesus, The Christ.

What person is newborn in this? Who may be seen to be needing milk and meat? Those who debate endlessly are not yet ready. But they shall be made ready and those who overcome ask and seek for others in this and in many things. It's not about ye and me, but rather it is (and we all agree), "By my Spirit, saith the Lord."

Behold ye barren for unto you is given a gift. It is a promise. This gift, this promise, and all growth ---> is from God and none other. He is also the one who states, "All who come to me are disciplined and pruned," and we know that God Loves us because we are chastened in the Lord by our Father in Heaven. We behold Him and pray... I ask for your prayer that I too may see that which we are drawn and called so expeditiously toward. That we may truly be found to edify, edify, edify each one the other, that our faith in God is expressed in our every word, every thought and every deed so that in the end we are stupefied as we behold HIM who is Worthy and hear him say that we have:

• Fed Him?
• Given Him water?
• Nourished Him?

As we bow to adore Him so also are we given ears to hear and we are made aware of the truth that any thing that we do unto these, the least of our brethren, so also, it is truly said, have we done for HIM.

How can this be? How may we know these things? There is only one way. That the Spirit of God 'splains it. Let those with ears to hear, hear what the Spirit says
