I am soldier currently deployed in Afghanistan. I was raised christian, and still have a strong faith, but I went through some very tough times recently which hurt my walk with God. I still believe, but my relationship has kind of been stand offish. A you stay over there, and I will stay over here type of thing. I want to improve myself, and my relationship with God, and find community that will support me this, and that is why I am here.

Welcome. Hmm we had one soldier that was in afghanstan and returned home from country and now we have another. BTW did a tour over there as well. i was in kunar province.

i will never ask that you violate opsec. my unit had a plt in kwost prt when i was there, and soldiers volunteered to do mp mission that was in camp salerno. These have since returned from country, rather recently.

Pray and read the Bible, I also went through a lot of hardship. I realized that my biggest mistake began when I left him out of the equation. When you become distant with God, you lose more than you can imagine. Dont worry about the past, start from scratch and he will help you to become the person he wants you to be. You can do all things in Christ, reach out to the Christian brothers and sisters around you.
