Hillsong Worship

Anyone from Sydney?
Anyone see Hillsong Worship?
Is it a church?
Or do they sing in big assembly halls?
What's up?

It came from an Australian church, I believe. (Not really certain)

It says in Wikipedia they are from a chuch called Hillsong in Sydney and they started making music in 1983 They were previously Hillsong Love.
.

It sure does look too big to be a church. Perhaps they tour as well or could be an annual meeting with other congregations within their church?

Just looked Hillsong church up. It says it is Pentecostal megachurch on Sydney affiliates to the Christian churches , Assemblies of God.

Is this the same Hillsong? I feel like there are different groups with variations of the name. This is currently one of my faves on my playlist.

My wife was sent a YT link to their services. They have beautiful Christian music concerts that occur in their arena. It is huge and I guess it is a church if they claim it such. There are also gatherings they sponsor in Australia from time to time that garner enormous numbers of faithful.
I can't imagine the energy generated when so many of Jesus' people are gathered in one place for praise and worship.
"Where two or more are gathered in my name there shall I be among them." That would be something I'd like to experience if I could ever manage to arrive at a Hillsong event.

I can assure you it is a very moving and powerful experience to be in a building with several thousand people all worshipping and praising the Lord. I've never been to a Hillsong event but have been to a few Tent Revivals years ago. It was an amazing experience to say the least!

I usually see people diss Hillsong, I'm glad to see people getting Blessed through their ministry. I have played their songs in many services, in several churches, on 3 different instruments, for many years. Often with the Anointing really coming through!

I've been to a mega-church.
@5,000 voices all excitedly singing the same song is amazing. A little slice of Heaven.
I sometimes would just close my eyes and listen.
Parking is a bit troublesome...if you can grab a golf cart ride in and back out it's not so bad...but usually you can't.

The small group Bible Studies usually rock. Many of them are run by former pastors with seminary degrees.
The church library was enormous. I had a great time in there with books and videos. (Mostly research for me)

But at the end of the day... I left. Too much of a show for my taste. I wanted more depth of the relationships. And I didn't have that much in common with those who regularly attended. It was a "Who's Who" of Christiandom. Big names and friends of big names you would recognize.

I enjoy being one of the many nameless and faceless. And for whatever reason I can't stay that way.
So I found a church that was 1/5th the size. 1,000 voices is good.

It would be amazing to have thousands of people all singing praise music together. Its probably the only time everyone is actually in harmony with all there diferent beliefs and all the distractions out the way no arguing over scripture or listening to false prophets and teachers, just one focus, everyone praising the Lord together. I mean thats great. And everyone having a good time.

There are Hillsong churches in England, too. Four in London and others scattered in various cities. If you look at their website (hillsong.com) you can see they are in cities throughout the world. I do thing music is their big draw so it seems mostly young (under 35 yrs of age) people. Their music is wonderful and a great blessing.
