We have live one nearly that size and fossils of a foot long are found in my state.I wonder of any will show up in the Vero Man dig

That would be so cool to have a fossil of a foot long dragonfly .... it would fit into my home easier than a T-Rex like Sue!

I knew about your gators....and I've seen pictures of snakes trying to eat gators......... not a pretty picture at all!
 
Snapping turtles are very good eating, BTW.
Gator turtles are a bit bigger and more menacing then the common snapping turtle .my fil ate a lot of turtles.he used to hunt them with a .22 and his mom would cool them.hard to believe that area is a college and a few homes now.it was a marsh in the 1940s and up to the late 50s.
 
They according to what I read are in the pan handle.
