Hollywood & the Me Too Movement

I was reading an article about famed film director, Roman Polanski, and I really started getting tense. Hollywood and its worshipers are the most hypocritical of all people. Polanski was a pedophile convicted of drugging and raping a 13 year old girl in the early 90's.since then, he's been unable to legally re-enter the U.S. or risk being arrested.

Much like Woody Allen, he has been found to be guilty of pedophilia, and true to Hollywood, that cesspool of hypocrisy quickly embraced him and hugged him as their own. This is the same Hollywood that clad themselves in black at the Golden Globes to drive home their wrath of all the men alleged of misconduct during the same period.

Actors and actresses to this day adore these pedophiles and forgive the likes of Robert Downey Jr., cheering them on to restore their careers and embrace them in the spirit of forgiveness. Meanwhile, they demonize every man who stands accused these days and make a show of their outrage.

The rules are so very different. Members of the the actors guild have the support and defense of Hollywood with its loud voice across the world after they've committed the worst acts of abuse. Every other man, including our sitting president, is in the scope of their gun. Based on nothing more than accusations of lesser improprieties that were alleged to have occurred decades ago, they will not stop until every one of these men are ruined.

Hypocrisy.

the dumb people cover their eyes and buy inot the hollywood trash.. over and over...being in dr offices over the last few months . Seeing the trash of 'People' and worst yet "US' has reconfirmed by disgust of popular media of any sort...

For more than two decades, I dealt with not only this particular hypocrisy, but also a lot of others surrounding this particular subject.

I realize it's the center of a national debate now, but I would point out that the original intention of the #metoo hashtag was for people who had been victims of sexual crime or sexual harassment to share their stories. The big giant celebrity cases aside, most of the stories are anecdotes, personal stories about what happened and how it affected them, rather than accusations calling for a specific person to be shunned. When looking in the tag recently, most of the stories I came across were people talking about how they had been molested as a child by a neighbor, relative, or babysitter. People can't learn what that stuff looks like if no one is allowed to talk about it.

I didn't intend to comment on the accusers or the accused. This was about actors and actresses in Hollywood who abuse their stage to lynch people who aren't on board with their liberal agenda, and then rally around their fellow actors and even use their platform to campaign for sentences to be reduced or dismissed.

They have campaigned to have Polanski's restriction from re-entering the U.S. lifted. A guy who drugged and raped a 13 year old girl. It doesn't matter how bad the atrocity. Drugs, pedophilia, crime, etc.

But they will not take their hands off the throats of other men who are only alleged to have said the wrong things or groped someone decades ago. Hang them in the town square.

That's fair. I think I've just come across way too many insensitive comments in online debates, so it's put me just a bit on the defensive. When metoo first became a thing I came across a ton of comments saying all the stories in it were fake or they just wanted attention and stuff.

I see the, Me Too movement, as a, Get Out From Under, dodge.

As gross as Polanski is, his family was slaughtered by the Manson Family. Two of his movies make my favorites list: Macbeth and China Town. His Oliver Twist was a rip off though.
