How do Muslims Believe They Can Be Saved?

Elf, Youre right. Word games dont really prove anything. Lets read the scripture.

Now...you say that muslims have been blinded by the devil. First, lets see what the Koran has to say about the devil.

O men! eat the lawful and good things out of what is in the earth, and do not follow the footsteps of the Shaitan; surely he is your open enemy.
-2:168

Looks like a warning against Satan. Now, just why would those blinded by the devil (as you say) have a warning against the devil?

Anyway...let us see what Jesus has to say when he was accused of being possessed....

So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.
-Mark 3:22-26

According to scripture, which you suggested be read, Jesus teaches that Satan would not oppose himself...and it looks like Satan is being opposed in the Koran. So, if you believe that Jesus is correct, then the beliefs of Islam are not from Satan, because Satan would not oppose himself.
There is only one problem with this, the Koran is not Holy Scripture.

Bodhitharta, the apostle Paul makes it clear in Romans 11:5-8

Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.[c] But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.
7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8 Just as it is written:

“ God has given them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes that they should not see
And ears that they should not hear,
To this very day.â€Â[d]

So, Bodhitharta, you cannot get to Heaven through works. Only through faith in Christ Jesus. By trying to enter Heaven through works, you are trying to enter through the back door like a thief, to put it in Jesus' words.

Then why does Jesus say that you will be judged according to your works? Is Jesus wrong or is Paul wrong?

Matthew 16 (King James Version)

27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Revelation 2:22-24 (King James Version)

22Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

23And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works

Revelation 20:11-13 (King James Version)

11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Matthew 7:20-22 (King James Version)

20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Knowing Jesus is not going to help you a bit if you do not do the will of the Father: This is according to Jesus himself.

Whether or not the koran is holy scripture is your subjective opinion. Its really beside the point.

You say islam is of the devil.

Islam warns against the devil.

Jesus' logic in Mark 3:22-26 vindicates Islam and thus, refutes your original claim of Islam being of the devil.

Please sort it out with Jesus. ;)

Every religion has an enemy. Hinduism also has "shaitan" and demons. The kingdom of satan is divided, just like Jesus said. There''s nothing to sort out with Jesus. It's all these other religions that must sort it out. Don't come to a Christian forum and demand that we sort things out with Jesus !

Turnorburn, was that aimed at me?

Im simply applying Jesus logic to refute Elfs assertion that Islam is of the devil.

Just look at the number of Islamic terrorists that have put the entire world under high vigilance today.

If a Christian goes to a Muslim Forum and blasphemes prophet Muhammad and Allah, guess what would happen ....

I'm curious of how Muslims think they can be saved. Because they live sinful lives, do they think they can step outside God's holy law and find their own brand of righeousness? Jesus offered an alternative, having said that He is the way, the truth, and the life, and that nobody goes to the Father except through Him. He also said that if any man tries to enter Heaven by another door, he tries to enter Heaven like a thief. So how do Muslims claim righeousness, having rejected the Son?

All religions have their own beliefs. Based on what I know of the Muslim faith, and that is very little, my understanding is that saving has nothing to do with it. Being saved is purely a Christian ideal the way I understand it.

Muslims believe that "Only those who endure to the end shall be saved" Just like Jesus said.

There is no arrogance such as saying as most Christians do "I know I'm saved" A Muslim will always assert "God willing"

Can you please watch your choice of words. There is no need for an attack on Christianity. Please do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

Just as there are works of good. So too are their works of evil. How can one say that they have faith if they do not at least try to live in accordance of their faith? Understand...?

if one has faith in the lord (truly) the fruits will follow and one is assured salvation, however god is not mocked, i dont believe in once saved always saved. One can walk away from the lord, but that's another topic.

enshallah is used in the bible( dont say the WE will do this or that, tommorow isnt promised, but rather IF THE LORD WILLS WE will do this or that)

So are you saying that Christian Arabs shouldn't believe in God whom in their own language is ALLAH?

Do you realize that you just called God Almighty the "best deceiver"? You should really be more careful.

The Christian Arabs , if they are really Christians believe in the Bible , NOT QURAN.

The Bible is NOT the same as Quran. God Almighty of the Bible is NOT the same as that of Quran.

Christian Arabs have no other name for God other than ALLAH, did you not understand that? Do you think everyone in every language runs around saying "God" If you are Aramaich like Jesus spoke you call God "Alaha" so just remember when Jesus was walking around he was saying "Alaha" when he spoke of God.

Also God of The Bible is the same as Allah unless you think there is some other God that created the heavens and earth in 6 days. There is no reason at all for you not to believe that Allah is God of the Bible. You do believe that the God of the OT is the same as the NT, right?

But in the OT God explicitly directs stoning for Adultery but Jesus prevents a stoning in the NT and in the Quran there is no death penalty for adultery just a lashing. Now how do you arrive at the conclusion that Allah is not the same God?

God will not be mocked. As long as the Christian Arabs are really Christians and believe only in the Bible, they will believe in the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, and they will only pray to Allah IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. No other way.

If Muslims insist that Allah of the Quran is the same God of the Bible, then you should have no problem believing in Jesus as the Son of God who was crucified and resurrected. The very fact that Muslims like you don't believe in that fundamental biblical truth proves that you are only contradicting yourself when you insist that Allah of Quran is the same as the God of the Bible !

You have not only sorely contradicted yourself but have also answered your own question.

Christianity does NOT impose any lashing for committing adultery today ........ :biglol

Tina,

God in the OT punished those who commited adultery with STONING, isn't this the same God and Father of Jesus?

Christians must obey the law with fear and trembling.

Muslims must obey the law with fear and trembling.

The difference is the means with which we accomplish this.

Do Christians obey the law better with Christ than Muslims without Christ? This then is the pertinent question.

As Jesus said....what thank have we if we do no better than the ones we seek to convert!??
