Bible Study how do you debate the lovley atheists

Apologetics. For example:

If I show you an amazing painting and say, "This painting, by chance, made itself." You would probably laugh and say, "That's ridiculous! Someone must have painted this!" If I show you a building and say, "This building was one day here and made itself!" You may laugh and say, "Of course not! Someone must have built it."

We know a building is constructed by construction workers and engineers. We know a painting is created by the hands of a painter. So why doesn't creation have a creator? We know that for something to exist, someone needs to make it and it doesn't happen by itself. God created the world, the waters, the sun, the moon, the stars, the plants, the animals, and people (Genesis 1-2).

have you watched atheist experience show on Youtube ?

Yes, but most atheists are agnostic. It is better to witness to them first to show them why they need Jesus Christ.

Example (An easy example):

Me: Would you say that you are a good person?

Person: Yes, of course!

Me: Have you ever stolen something? Even if it was small like a pen?

Person: Yes.

Me: What would you call someone who steals?

Person: A thief.

Me: That's correct. Have you ever lied?

Person: Yes.

Me: What do you call someone who lies?

Person: A liar.

Me: Okay. Have you ever used God's name as a swear word?

Person: All the time!

Me: This is called blasphemy, it is serious. You're cursing the one who gave you life. I have some bad news for you. By your own admission, you are a lying thief and blasphemer. These are against 3 of the 10 commandments of God's law. If you died today and faced God and you have broken 3/10 of these laws so far, would you go to Heaven or Hell?

Person: Hell.

Me: But you know, here is the good news. Jesus Christ came to Earth to die upon the cross for your sins and mine. He loved us so much that He died for us. Now we see we have broken God's law. If we repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Savior then we, too, can get to Heaven. It's like this. Say you committed a terrible crime and the judge orders a 1 million dollar fine that you cannot afford or else you go to jail for life. A person whom we do not know walks in the courtroom and says, "Judge, I have given up everything I have to pay the fine." Therefore, you go free and the case is legally dismissed. In the same way, Jesus Christ paid our fine so God can legally dismiss our case. We need to repent or turn our lives around to obey God's law, pray to Him and ask for forgiveness, and read our Bible daily and obey it.

1. stars
2. frog evolution
3. nothing from something…..

can you say me it
With scripture however
He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, AND THE NT they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'"
If they don't believe all that testimony of the Only true God through thousands of years and many different people what could I possibly give that would convince skeptics?

There is no resurrection apart from Jesus.

Hmmm,.. very interesting question. :chin I can't say that I have personally ever been in that situation before, but if I was, I would tell them well,.. science has proven that everything that has come into existence was caused by the big bang,.. so what caused the big bang then? And then I would wait and see how they responded.

no really good idea. Letting a bit of Jesus show to those around you is always a good thing. planting seeds is about all I think I can do at this point. To me...

actual atheism is a belief system, just as surely as Christianity is...it just happens to be wrong. dealing with people who are committed to atheism brings with it a host of other issues--past experiences with Christians, pride, self-love, bitterness, disillusionment, etc.--that Jesus can deal with, in the inner-most heart. As a believer, I think my best course of action is mostly to -defend- my own faith and right to believe (there are some awfully hostile non-believers out there...) and see if I can plant seeds or at least...get people to think about Jesus, if only for a moment.

Here's an experiment that equals the theory of Evolution.

Let a tornado hit a Home Depot...and if a complete subdivision is spit out... evolution is right.

But so far several tornadoes have hit Home Depots and only a mess has happened.

Just so we know who we are dealing with, let's define an atheist. (others may add or subtract)

An atheist is one who believes that there is no absolute morality, and that a deity is not needed to have a happy and fulfilled life. They believe in only the physical universe, and all laws that exist are the ones that are provable with the scientifically established ones.

So, morality is a built-in facet that has evolved from eons for survival of the species; therefore there is no a need for a moral lawgiver. In fact the ideas of soul, spirit, and afterlife are nonexistent. Right and wrong are innate, rational, and self-evident. Consequently, there is no ultimate authority to give account to except oneself.

Therefore, the idea of a “god” is extraneous.

Another idea I have used (with not much success) is to ask how restitution and justice can be had with a child in Chicago playing on her front porch and is slain instantly by an anonymous drive by shooter seeking gang related revenge, and is never brought to justice. (this has actually happened) How will that injustice be rectified if there is no moral Lawgiver and therefore no punishment?

We could try living as Christ intended and just be genuine. I think more people have become believers having been around one or more genuine Christians than have been argued into the kingdom.
Hi Bull, I have found that not to be true. Many unbelievers who associate with moral and God loving people, will say they are good people...yet not associate it or credit it to God. What is worse is those who called themselves Christians, treated me worse than the average Joe. And after they got me fired (city politics). One of them called me and said, "we could not think of anything you ever did to us, we don't know why we treated you that way....I did not either, but I forgave them, but it took awhile.

There's video's of I think the founder of living waters doing this.

Thats true just read about a women who claimed Christianity but left the catholic church because of their abuses. She stated she is now a atheist. So one can ask if you left the church because of their perceived hypocrisy how do you know good from evil since you no longer believe in God? Could it be a Holy God made such things known to man.
I like to ask those who once claimed Christianity and walked away, "How can one have the Spirit of Christ in them and not know Jesus lives?" Obviously to those that have that Spirits witness they never belonged to Jesus.
