We don't need or use alters as Christ died once for all sins, we have no need of sa refines on an alter.

An O T alter was made up of 12 large stones, one for each tribe, stones that had not been cut/carved.
How 12 irregular shaped stones would have been arranged I don't know.
Possible three layers of 4 stones with an infilling of soil.?
