There is only one new covenant church founded by Christ on Peter and the apostles Matt 16:18-19 Jn 20:21-23 eph 4:5 thanksAccording to Revelation there are 7 churches.
But as to why so many denominations... Why do ice cream shops sell more than just vanilla?
Different folks focus on different things as more/less important.
And there are 7 in Revelation. thanks. There is only one new covenant church founded by Christ on Peter and the apostles Matt 16:18-19 Jn 20:21-23 eph 4:5 thanks
That’s just a figure of speechAccording to Revelation there are 7 churches.

Still 7.That’s just a figure of speech
Read each one and you will find “thee church” at a specific location
Jn 16:13 cannot admit of more than one church and scripture admits of no denominations
Only Christ has authority to found a church on Peter and the apostles Matt 16:18-19 eph 2:20 all other are heretical sects the tradition of men
Thanks
Hey... I'm just quoting Revelation here. There are 7 bodies of Christ?
7 new covenants?
No
There is one body, one church but many congregations or local churches, parts of the overall body of Christ. There are not just the 7 churches as cited in Rev. Look at the various letters and interductory statements, "to the church at---" such as 1Cor 1:2 "to the church of God which is at Corinth", or 2 Cor 1, "to the church of God which is at Corinth", or Gal 1, "unto the churches of Galatia", or some addressed to the saints at the churches as in the Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, etc., or 2 Thes 1. etc. Very easy to see there are and were many churches and not just the 7 individual congregations of Revelation.According to Revelation there are 7 churches.

One Church but many fellowships. The Bible tells us that there is only ONE body. Eph 4. And that the body is the church so the Bible tells us that there is only ONE church. So why do I see a different “church” on about every corner in America? Did God start all of these “churches”? He said there was one!
The key is....how can a person identify the one true church of God. The one he built. The one he purchased with his own blood. Ac 20:28. You can identify the church the same way you can identify anything else. By its description. If someone stole your car and you wanted the police to find it they would ask you to describe it. You would then give them the make, model, color, license plate, any stickers or other dents or identifying marks. They then can know EXACTLY what to look for. Why can’t we do the same thing with the church?
Let’s try and start with Origin. Jesus said he would build his church. Mt 16:19.
1. When did Jesus build HIS church? It belongs to him and no one else.
We will look this up in the next post.

Only 1 that belongs to God. From the first covenant, He has always had one people. One is either with His people, or not. It is really important to recognize who His people are and go with them. Zech 8:23The Bible tells us that there is only ONE body. Eph 4. And that the body is the church so the Bible tells us that there is only ONE church. Yes and the test to see if you are in that true faith.Only 1 that belongs to God. From the first covenant, He has always had one people. One is either with His people, or not. It is really important to recognize who His people are and go with them. Zech 8:23
The Bible identifies the true faith beyond any doubt
Of course the biggest identifier is the God in whom you worship and serve wouldn't you say Randy? Jesus Christ set the example and we are to follow his steps to the best of our ability. Which God did he worship and serve, and teach us about?Yes and the test to see if you are in that true faith.
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
Those that "God" not man states are His children. As is written such praise is from God. To those who received Jesus and believed in Him. God gave that right to be called the children of God.
children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God
If you belong to Christ then you are the "seed" of Abraham and heirs according to the promise.
The one who glorifies Him.Of course the biggest identifier is the God in whom you worship and serve wouldn't you say Randy? Jesus Christ set the example and we are to follow his steps to the best of our ability. Which God did he worship and serve, and teach us about?
Born again people gathered together constitutes what we call a local church. What constitutes or what is the requirement of a local church?
(Matthew 4:10) . . .Jesus said to him: “Go away, Satan! For it is written: ‘It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.’”The one who glorifies Him.
It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me.
Without an apostle?Born again people gathered together constitutes what we call a local church.
Under the leadership and guidance of one or more believers with the calling and gift of elder/pastor.Without an apostle?
Only apostles have authority from Christ and only they can send more apostles not some self-appointed preacher with a so called spiritual calling! But ordained bishops and priests. ThanksUnder the leadership and guidance of one or more believers with the calling and gift of elder/pastor.
