How Much different?

So when people tell me it is okay to smoke cigaretts...I just wonder in my mind how much different it is from smoking marijuana or cannabis.

It is hard to tell if the questions are for real, or if they're from a news reporter stirring things up.

Smoking may be unhealthy (it's not always). I think 10,000 times more little children/babies/adults/teens/ worldwide die from bad water and diarrhea than from all the combined deaths from smoking anything.
(This was on the news recently, again; deaths from bad water are many times the combined deaths from cancer, aids, ebola, flu, and the next several 'major' causes).

That is an unrighteous tragedy and subject to the Creator's Judgment - the water around the world could have been made safe a hundred years ago for less than governments and corporations spent in a short time in 'war' activities and in industrial activities... ... ...

Claudia, without the word desperate, this might be a keen observation but with it included the comment loses it's possible value.

Classik, I get it and though I despise the necessity of treating people as though they are underlings, to some extent you might want to learn to do so. Had you, first, made the case for all sin being, scripturally, equal you should have avoided these disdaining comments. Contrary to scripture but misusing the same, people love to grade sin on this or on that sliding scale.

Ok, this is what I believe Classik is saying:

"Whether you fornicate a little or a lot, fornication is still fornication."



He used "fornication" the way many of us use the term "pregnant". There's no such thing as being a little pregnant, you either are or you're not.

His message is this:

"There is no safe way to smoke a cigarette."



We have to remember that english is not his first language.

Yes WIP. And my position on this is complex, requires a lot of study off both the scriptures and customs coupled with, "What did they know and when did they know it." Things that God knows. There is, of course, only one unforgivable sin that condemns a man but many folks know and have known that make the number two sin Homosexuality and the scale slides from there.


Growing up, dad wholesaled Cigars, Cigarettes, Pipe Tobacco, Snuff and Chewing Tobacco and there is no way I was sinning until I understood that I was pouring smoky poison into my body. At that point I stopped dipping, chewing, cigars and tossed my pipes. It took three more years for me to end the struggle with the cigs and although I come down on no one for smoking, god had convicted me that I was found in sin because of the damage I was, intentionally inflicting on the temple of God.

As I said, complex until I fully surrendered to God.

Just because more people died from bad water than from smoking doesn't make smoking any less unhealthy.

That's like saying "Beheading's aren't always fatal because more people die in car accidents than are beheaded each year."

that's up to Yhvh - like the 3 men thrown in the furnace, I depend on the Creator for my care. If I'm thrown in a furnace, I might or might not smoke. Yhvh decides.

also, it doesn't matter anyway. if you can read english, or another internet language, it may take a while, but you or anyone else with a 3rd grade education can find out why and when smoking cigarettes is not healthy, and why and when it is not unhealthy (for the smoker). it will take an honest approach in seeking truth to find the truth. (rare everywhere including on the internet, but still shows up now and then).
