How Much different?

The Bible does not say it is a sin to drink alcohol.It says it is a sin to get "drunk".

The first sign Jesus did was turning water into wine. Is it really a sin to be drunk?
.

Was the wine alcoholic?

This infers that it was.

John 2
10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
.

Yes it is a sin to be "drunk" Isaiah 29:9-14; Ephesians 5:15-18

Neither one of these passages say that being drunk is a sin.

Isaiah 29
9 Pause and wonder!
Blind yourselves and be blind!
They are drunk, but not with wine;
They stagger, but not with intoxicating drink.

10 For the Lord has poured out on you
The spirit of deep sleep,
And has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets;
And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.
11 The whole vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is literate, saying, “Read this, please.” And he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”
12 Then the book is delivered to one who is illiterate, saying, “Read this, please.”And he says, “I am not literate.”
13 Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
14 Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”

Ephesians 5
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,
16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
.

This infers that it was.

John 2
10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
.
And that is not probably talking about drunkenness. It talks about satisfaction, I presume

To help you, Gary. Imagine the Holy Spirit living in a vessel full of wine

How comfortable is the Holy Spirit in a drunken vessel?

I'm not the Holy Spirit so I wouldn't know.

You're basing your doctrine on emotions and feelings. That's not how it works.
