Several years ago I had a dream that I was back at a job I used to work and that I was with fellow workers with our new supervisor in an area outside located between the field office building and the manufacturing plant. The supervisor was standing there with all us employees gathered around him. He began verbally instructing each one as to his assignment for the day. As each employee received their instructions, they each would turn with a huge smile and eagerly depart to carry out their duties.Kind of close to that but not exactly! I have seen that painting and it does remind me of Him a little bit but Jesus/YHVH looks younger and HIS face is a bit different too, beard and mustache more trim, and His eyes are a lighter shade of blue. He looks much more awesome than that painting has depicted, but that girl did fairly well!
I was soon the only employee left standing there. As the supervisor turned to walk back to the office, I asked "Is there any assignment for me?" The supervisor stopped and turned back toward me asked asked "What?" I felt uncomfortable now and sheepishly stated "I would like an assignment like the rest got." He looked down at the clipboard he was carrying and slightly shook his head then looked back up then looked right through me and said "I can't count on you to treat everyone the same." He then turned away again and walked directly back to the office. My head dropped as he had spoken those last words and I slightly nodded in agreement for I knew he spoke the truth. I stood there alone and woke up.
When I woke, I pondered the dream. This supervisor was dressed in new work boots, jeans and a long sleeved plaid shirt. The shirt was tucked in and he wore a thick/wide leather belt. He was tall, ruggedly hansom but well groomed. He had a shortish mid length mustache and beard. His hair was brown. He was of such a dynamic person, he demanded undivided attention.
For years I wondered who that was. My spirit knew, but my puny brain hadn't caught on until I saw Akiane's painting. My wife and I were sitting on the couch watching TV when I saw her picture The Prince of Peace. I was flabbergasted as I blurted out to Ann "That's Him! That's the guy in my dream." I knew right then I had seen my Lord in a dream and immediately knew that I too had been given an assignment after all ......to treat everyone the same. Even though I fail, from time to time, to carry out my assignment properly......I know I must continue to try till my dying day.
