I Need Relationship Advice

I am feeling so guilty right now. As you all may already know about me I have a fiancée that I am madly in love with but unfortunately since he is currently behind bars for a crime that he didn't commit I can't see him an awful lot. As of right now unless the weather changes I will be going down to visit him on Thursday which I sincerely hope that it doesn't because I am really looking forward to it because I love every moment that I am able to spend in his company. We're even allowed to sit right next to each other and hold hands, hug and kiss occasionally as long as it doesn't go overboard and we are even allowed to get a picture together. The problem is that it seems like whenever I get really excited and happy about something the devil always tries to interfere with it. Like this morning I woke up feeling really happy about the fact that it was Monday already and I only had a few more days to go before I would be seeing him and then I could swear I heard this hissing voice inside my ear telling me that he's not worth it. You just don't have the same feelings for him anymore, break up with him, you don't love him. You still have four more years to go that's a long time. There's plenty of fish in the see why just waste your love all on him? What if he really is guilty after all? I believed to be all of that nothing but lies because I always go by what I feel inside my heart and my heart is telling me that he is innocent and that if we've been together for ten years already we must be soulmates. And considering that we've already been separated for five years, four more of them really isn't that long to go. Well I told the devil to shut up and go back to Hell and leave me alone. It's bad enough that he is trying to damage the relationship that I have with Jesus Christ and now he's trying to come between me and my man? Am I going crazy? Has this ever happened to anyone else before? Has the devil tried to interfere with other things in your life besides your walk with the Lord?

I don't think God would hiss down your ear. I do know satan tries to interfere with every aspect of your life, especially when you have given your life over to Jesus. Satan is raging tearing whoever he can to prevent them being saved. The only human being who knows if Joe is guilty is Joe himself. I remember you posting that Joe is attending Christian meetings and that he loves the Lord. So Satan won't be pleased at that and he will try to stop it, but God's spirit is much stronger than Satan. I would pray for the spirit to guide you. :hug

That's true you're right. I just love him so much and I can't let the devil interfere with that since I believe what we have is true love and that when I start thinking like that that it's not my voice or God's voice that is talking to me it's Satan's.

Didn't Jesus have the same problem when approached by the devil?
Luk 4:3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written . . . (What scriptures do you tell Satan if he whispers to you?)
Has the devil tried to interfere with other things in your life besides your walk with the Lord?
Only you can change things in your life; Satan can't touch you since you're in Christ.
1Jn 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but He (Jesus) that is begotten of God keepeth himself (This is us; the body of Christ), and that wicked one (Satan)toucheth him not.

Thanks Eugene I really needed that. :hug To be honest I really don't know too many scriptures yet. However I'm really glad that you reminded me that even Jesus was tempted by the devil. One of the scriptures that I am aware of is in the book of Genesis 2:24 where it specifically states; "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and is joined to his wife and they shall become one flesh." Now I'm not sure whether or not this sounds crazy to you but even though we haven't officially said I do yet I already have a (engagement) ring on my finger and I feel like Joe and I have become one already. Whenever one of us is hurting, the other one shares their pain. It's like Tessa posted above, Joe is also a man of God but his faith has been shaken due to the fact that he has been sent to prison and separated from his soon to be wife as well as the rest of his friends and family. I really honestly believe the devil is trying to take advantage of that and our faiths (even though mine is a lot stronger) and that's why he's trying to break up our relationship with the Lord as well as each other.

You've got to remember that it is God at work in your lives to give you His best. Rom 8:28. I just gave this scripture in another post, but even Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered.
Heb 5:8 Though He (Jesus) were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered;
1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

You know you're right. As much as it sucks that we've had this obstacle to overcome, it just shows how strong the love we have for one another and not only that but I do believe that it is also strengthened our relationships with God because we want to know that He is there for us, on our side, loves us, and just knowing the fact that we aren't alone and He hasn't left us even though sometimes it sort of feels like He has. It's sort of like the song What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger and not even death itself could hold Jesus because His love for us was way stronger than we could even imagine.

It sounds like to me that now more then ever your future husband needs you. I have felt and heard simular things in myself that I had to ask, "was that really me?" Cling to scripture as much as you can and know how to. God's word is described as our only weapon against Satan's attacks. This from Paul's writing on wearing the armor of God.

If scripture is hard to hold on to when we get something you suspect to be from Satan, then pray for God to give you what you need. And to pray for Him to do the same for your fiancé.
