I need to give praise.

My husband's business closed the week of Christmas "giving" everyone a week off. Without pay. It wasn't so bad during the holiday season, because of the way they are paid, but this was the week that the paycheck that he didn't make didn't get into the bank. And, it's this paycheck that has to last to the end of the month. Which meant that we were going to be hard-pressed to make it to February.

But two things happened which just served to confirm in me that my God will supply all our needs according to His riches and glory:

1: One of the schools in town called me for a substitute job that lasted for the week.

With what little we have in savings, and this check that I will receive, we had enough in the bank and enough coming in to pay all our bills for the month. The only thing was that we still needed to buy groceries and put gas in the tanks between now and February.

Which leads me to

2: Today, one of the churches in Boise brought a semi truck filled with food to one of the neighboring towns. The food was free, and all one had to do was to give their name, phone # and how many were in the household.

So, now there are enough groceries in the pantry and freezer to last to the end of the month, and we still have enough left in the bank to buy gas, and even have a little buffer.

Tommorrow for supper I am going to make a roasted chicken, complete with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, and corn on the cob, all of which was provided by God via those folks who gave to their church's food drive.

It's a bit humbling. I'm more used to donating than I am to receiving. But, it's still a good feeling to know that God continues to bless us, even in these times when things are so tight.

Amen Dora!! I know what rough times are like. God Bless you & your Family. And Thank you God for your Love & Blessings for this family.

This is the Day that the Lord has made;we shall rejocie & be glad in it

Thank you for being honest and sharing. It is so uplifting and encouraging. We know God supplies our needs but its only when we reach this sort of situation that He steps in and you see it with your own eyes.

It lifts your faith levels to that next level.

I trust God will continue to bless you with every blessing.

Thanks for your responses.

I also want to give praise for my new connection to high-speed internet.

We live way out in the middle of nowhere, and there have been a lot of folks in our little community that have wanted high-speed. However, with only about 60 households around here, there hasn't been enough potential profit for any provider to invest in this area.

Well, that changed, and since our house was in direct sight of the company's towers on the mountian about 20 miles from here, they approached us with the deal that if we allowed them to post their pole and box on our property, they would provide us with high-speed free of charge. Today, their tech came and hooked us up! This is truly a great thing for our community. Our neighbors are excited to have high-speed as an option, the company is excited to get plenty of new customers, and I'm excited to have a bit of "gravy" that I could never justify spending money on, but love just the same. It truly is a win-win-win situation for all involved. One lady in our community was especially instrumental in working out all the kinks to get this up and running, and since she's my neighbor, I know that there was a lot that had to happen 'behind the scenes' to get this in place. So, again, praise God for opening doors, having things happen in a timely manner, and generally blessing our little community with this.
