Woman sues over 'terrifying' seagull swoop at Greenock building
A woman who claims she was injured when a seagull swooped at her during her lunch-break is suing the owners of the building where she worked.

Cathie Kelly said she stumbled on steps as she tried to escape the "terrifying" dive-bombing bird outside the Ladyburn business centre in Greenock.

She knew of the gulls. Is it the landlord's fault that the gulls get angry when she gets too close to their nests? I've been attacked by gulls and terns (arctic terns are evil!), but I've never sued anybody over it. Maybe I should. Arctic terns nest every year on land that belongs to the city. I could try suing them.

This has certainly become a sue you society. I can't understand how they win. It's only common sense if you are eating outside around sea gulls they are going to come and scavenge.

Anyone for Salem type lawyer and "touchy feely" therapist trials? Because without lawyers and the simpering set "oh you have a boo boo, blame someone else", these frivolous greed driven cases would never see the light of day. It is a sad statement of our world

As if the landlords of the building had any control over those birds! Grief! Greenock is very close to the Clyde, which is quite populated with gulls and other birds along the lengthy stretch of the waterway. What a frivolous lawsuit.

Frivolous lawsuits have crippled America since someone sued for McDonald's drive thru coffee being too hot and won. I think it happened in the 90's. That opened the Pandora's box.

Want to hear a true story about a ridiculous law suit? I have a friend who is a lawyer and he told me this story. A man came to him and told him that he had ordered something through a catalog (this was before the Internet became popular) that had turned out to be faulty when it arrived, but the sellers refused to take it back and give him a refund. Before taking the case, my friend asked what the product was and what was wrong with it and where he had ordered it from. It turns out that he had bought a mail order bride from Nigeria and when she arrived she had syphilis and TB. My friend refused to take the case. So, apparently did every other lawyer in town, because last time my friend heard of it, the man was going to represent himself.

I really can believe it.Several years ago there was story that became quite well known. It was the woman who sued McDonald's for a bunch. The cashier handed a lady a cup of hot coffee. She spilled it on her lap and it caused a burn.I think she won the case and got a ton of money from McDonalds.I do not think that their was the notice then on all the cups of hot beverages that said "Caution very hot".But there is now.
It goes along with this story:

I forgot to mention that the man referred to the mail order bride as a "product" he had ordered. That man doesn't deserve a bride, mail order or otherwise.
