I want to be filled

I've made a horrible mistake. You don't have to be baptized to recieve the Holy Spirit. "Then Peter said, 'Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have recieved the Holy Spirit just as we have." So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ." Ultrajet, perhaps you don't know you have recieved the Holy Spirit because you did not speak in tongues? And this was spoken by Peter after he had visited Cornelius the soldier of the Italian Regiment, who was a gentile. For you see, God had intended for Peter to realize that God does not show favoritism between anyone, but sent His Son to save anyone who would believe. You should read about it. Acts chapter 10 and about half of 11.

Altar call isn't like, "I'm going up there and recieve the Holy Spirit."
It's more like...
"I've GOT to go up there! Something within me is pulling me to go. I can't resist! I MUST go!"

You'll know when it's time. Trust me. :-D

Act 4:4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed...

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Personally, some of the best alter calls I have ever had, where in my bathroom....Simply falling on my knees and bringing myself before the Lord....

Absolutely jgredline. It's different for everyone. The most common is altar call as far as I've experienced. As for me I was saved on a back porch, alone, one night in Utah while admiring the stars. Others I've known have answered altar call, others at home study groups and even one on the streets of downtown Salt Lake City.

(I'm speaking of cases where people accepted Christ into their life.)

:-D ,

really on a serious note, I am not totally totally sure how I feel about ''traditional'' alter calls...I have seen to many ''fake'' conversions....

At my old church there used to be alter calls 3-4 times a month....And many times it was the same folks going up there to get re-saved... :-? This church was very Armenian in theology...This was one of many reasons why I left this particular denomination...But anyway at my current church (which would be a perfect church if not for me  ) we have alter calls every once in a great while...And when we do there is intense follow up with each and every person that is saved...They will meet with a Pastor, Elder or Deacon...They are given a bible and asighned a person to Pray for them and keep following up...

My wife has worked the Billy Graham crusades and I know folks who work the Greg Laurie Harvest crusades and they do the same kind of follow up as we do in our church. I can see that working....

Now before anyone can work a Harvest or Graham crusade, one must be affirmed by staff and go through 6-8 weeks of training...

As far as what I said earlier...To me an ''Altar'' is anyplace you are... We are the temple of the living God and and so where we are at, the Altar is there as well...I often get on my knees and simply Praise ''him'' all by my lonesome...Just me and All Mighty God...And you know what? He is never to busy for me..How cool is that...I never get an answering machine, or an ''I will call you back later''..
Nope, He is always there...Praise be to God the Lord Jesus Christ....

Twenty years ago my 'altar' was a yellow bean bag chair. I have often regretted giving it away, but I pray that there is an anointing on it that is blessing whosoever has enjoyed it since.

Yikes J, they sound more like Wesleyan/Methodists than they do classic Arminian. :-?

Vic,
You ''pegged'' it...It is the Free Methodist church and is extremely Wesleyan...

I have not yet receive the filling(baptism) of the Holy Spirit, the church extended the altar call again.

By the way, if you are already baptized by the Holy Spirit. would it affect prayer life in terms of spiritual supplication? If so, to what extent?
