if you wanna be a poltician what traits do you need ?

can you say me it ?

In the US, becoming a politician means becoming evil. Our founding fathers recognized government as evil, but a necessary evil. They also went to great lengths to confine the government, so their evil wouldn't become rampant. That's what the US Constitution is.

"American exceptionalism" refers to these ideas, that were very exceptional in their day.

You need a heart that speaks lies and deceits and need to be all about self gratification.

From the beginning it was not so. You needed a heart for service, the ability to leave home for a while each year, and not much in other special qualifications other than being literate. You would also want to get out of office and get back home, so term limits weren't needed.

These are values we should get back to, and no I don't think that's unrealistic!

The writers never counted on political parties, and were surprised when parties started. In his retirement speech, President George Washington begged the people not to form political parties. If the same political party controls the Presidency, House, Senate, and Supreme Court, the checks and balances designed into the Constitution are negated.

You have to be able to talk out of both sides of your mouth. Your opinion has to have the ability to be changed from a mild breeze.

If you want to be a politian you need to be able to handle the dirt and grime that is part of politics.

People will support you for their own gain, or seek to destroy you for the same reasons. Sometimes regardless of the policies and positions you would hold.

Many will try to take you for their agendas and lobbiests will seek to wow you into their position. Then there are the political organizations. They will try to support each other while slandering those in the opposing party. Some who are supported by the party that are horrible leaders and are governorers or legislators that are ill fitted for the state they are suppose to serve.

To be a politician you have to be able to handle the dirt and grime that is part of politics. Hopefully to also lead, and rise above the worst in the political world.

Personally I don't want any part of it because I think the system will swallow me whole, and spit me out a worse man.

All I know is that no sane person is attracted to power and wants to rule over and control other peoples lives.

That's not a very worldly definition of "sane." From a carnal standpoint, who wouldn't want all that? Thus the basis for American exceptionalism; it was the first challenge to such a rampant power grab in a very long time.

Politics is something I think everyone is drawn to. Not that they want volunteer, lead, or serve in a position of politics, but tgat they want their needs met, their beliefs upheld, and their values whether it"s justice, or liberties to be promoted.

In that sense I think it takes a consciencous choice to step away from politics completely, just as it takes a as much active choice to get more involved then just voting every 4 years. The corruption and attraction of power comes into play by those who hold more power to support massive campaign donations (coperations usually) and make their voice more weighty. Or indeed from those who are attracted to politics for the power over people.

However there are two individuals in the bible that were part of a government. Even to the point of being in charge of the country. They are both held up as good men. Not power hungry or corrupt. Those two are Joseph on of the 12 sons of Israel. The other is Danial, who in Israel's exile served Babylon's empire. Nehemiah also served a king during Israel's exile. He then came back with that King's blessing to rebuild Israel's wall.

What I mean is tgat though it is probably rarer, there are still those who serve in politics and government who are not corrupt or evil.
