If you were stuck on a desert island

The original script for this show in time, turned out to be what was to become "Lost". It was to be a drama, but problems and timing forced them to make some changes and just turn it into a comedy, which was a roaring success as we know. :)

To answer the question:

1. A bible.
2. A wife.
3. A sturdy pre-built shelter

The Lord would provide the rest also.

Gilligan's Island is the most popular sit-com ever. Only 3 seasons were made, but it's been shown continuously for over 50 years now.

Yep, you're right. But ol' Dobie was a natural comedian. I think he's gone now? RIP Gilliagan! :)

I'm afraid so. he died in 2005. I had to look up who Dobie was. I didn't see that show, but according to the Wikipedia article on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, Bob Denver didn't play Dobie. That part was played by Dwayne Hickman. Bob Denver played his friend Maynard G. Krebs. Unless, of course, 'ol Dobie refers to something else I don't know. That's not hard to imagine, as there are so many things I don't know.

No, that's my memory playing tricks on me. I remember the show, but apparently not who was who, lol. It has been a long time.

Yes, and if you liked the book you would probably enjoy the old original movie, too. I loved both the book and the movie.

I saw Meet the Robinsons. I don't remember there being an island in it, though.

Did anyone see the movie "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks?

" Look what I've created . I've made fire !!!! " :biggrin

Oh I'd take an axe, a flint, and a help meet. Umm it probably wouldn't be a popular idea taking a help meet to a deserted Island change that to a Border Collie.

Huh. I'm an avid reader too and never read that one either.

so, you think , with #2: "a wife"
even the Lord
can give you 'rest' !? :rolleyes:poke:hug:clap:halo :pray

Hmm, you may have something there, lol. Still though rest gets old after awhile. Ask a guy who's self employed and work is slow. Plus the loneliness. I like people, especially girls! I was married for 26 years and she was fully female with all their idiosyncrasies, and...I miss being married. I found it challenging.

If I'm not allowed to have genies, like I said before, I would have...
  1. My Bible
  2. A computer with a high speed Internet connection (preferably Linux)
  3. Enough solar power cells to power the computer
If I need anything else, I can just order it online.

Does the island have a source of freshwater?

1. A solar powered computer
2. a satellite dish for internet access

Now I can order everything I need on the internet.

3. male company :)

Oh a Border Collie would be awesome. I sure miss my old friend that passed last fall.

I din't know it, but got here anyway :) ..... What did emissary John do on the isle of patmos ? (possibly the closest example in the Bible of this situation) (don't know that either - haven't given it more thought yet; but , oh, yeah -- "rest" in the Lord doesn't mean inactivity, very often it means working the fingers to the bone, working to the point of exhaustion, FOR THE GOSPEL, without payment, wearing threadbare clothes, some days/nights with no where to lay your head; six days a week. always rest on the seventh, as Yhwh instructs. (though it is not as man looks at it, remember Yeshua said "My Father works, so I work" and "it is right to do good on the Sabbath(heal people and stuff like that) )

Revelation 1:9
I, John, your brother and companion (sharer and participator) with you in the tribulation and kingdom and patient endurance [which are] in Jesus Christ, was on the isle called Patmos, [banished] on account of [my witnessing to] the Word of God and the testimony (the proof, the evidence) for Jesus Christ.
