Im back for the weekend!

I'm back. Been RUNNING on the new job, they had me on the road for 3 weeks, and I flew to Michigan to see my kids over Christmas and had company last weekend.... SO BUSY.

This weekend, I got home last night, went to the Grocery store and came home. I REFUSE to get dressed, or go outside until monday morning. I am HOME, period. I have a condo full of new furniture that I have not even enjoyed since it was delivered four weeks ago. It feels SO GOOD to be home (both here at the Condo and here at CF.net).

So, help me, where is the verse that goes something like "Be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves"????

I might start a thread on why I am asking, but I CANNOT find it. Seems like it was Jesus' own words, or did Paul say it?

Anyway, the new job is wonderful, terrible, exciting, disappointing, stressful, boring, exciting, crazy, --- all at the same time.

My condo is wonderful, quiet, clean, ................. HOME.

And I have been so busy, that I have not washed or vacumed my car in over a MONTH. I've been driving rental cars for weeks, so it isn't all that dirty... but it is filthy (for me, anyway).

I was going to clean it and detail it, but we have 5 days of rain coming and I will be driving it to the office all next week...

Anyway, smiles to everyone!

Mat 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

So good to hear from you! You have been in my prayers/thoughts for the last week or so...

First, thanks - I KNEW Christ said it, I even remember the "send you forth" part, but I COULD NOT find it, and I remembered the great resource that this place is!

Second, it is very interesting that I have been in your thoughts. The job has been a KILLER, and I have been targeted for elimination by two co-workers. Well, really ONE just WISHES I was not there, the other has been trying to manipulate things such that I fail. But nine days ago, it all turned around.

I have been "as wise as a serpent" and "as harmless as a dove" (to the point of people thinking I was an idiot, even). Well, it worked. The one who has been trying to get me out of there got VERY DRUNK on a business trip, called me from his motel room (we were in the same hotel) and threatened me, revealed much of what he has been doing, demanded to know what my pay is, and told me what HIS pay is!

The best part, is that he does NOT remember any of this. As of yesterday, he realizes what has happened. He still does not know what I know, but he DOES know that he called me drunk and therefore, if I spill the beans (he was publicly drunk in the hotel lobby and at a local restaurant where they made him leave)... he may be unemployed by monday at 9am.

Of course, I, being a Christian, am full of compassion for the poor fool. I was raised by a drunk and know how to handle them - I got him to open up to me that night, and I got tons of information out of him.

Had I recorded the call, the whole world could change at my command.

But I am not going to crucify him, I will give him a chance to learn, grow and make amends. I will show the compassion and forgiveness that the Lord has offered me.

If he refuses the gift, well... that will be on him.

Yea, I've been busy.

At the end of it all there is always some pizza to cheer up the stomach.

Welcome back, Pizza:wave:)

God will tell you what to do - maybe He already has told you

You know, I wonder if I came along BECAUSE of the Lord. Had any other co-worker witnessed this, he'd have been gone by now. The poor guy has made enemies of everyone else - you should hear how he talks to people.

One tech was hired just before me, and he made his life at work hell. He then told our manager that this other tech was "... a damn fool, I don't want him at any of my sites or on any project with me." And our manager listened.

Along I come (much more qualified, with 30 years in this industry). I found out that he also told them the same thing about me, but they realized this was baloney. So, off we go together. See, the fact is, I am the only one who COULD have seen this.

With his marriage ending (did I mention that?) I hope he can hold it together. And I hope he can somehow accept my offer of friendship, the guy sure needs a friend, and he need the Lord, too.

And I did it, been in my bathrobe all day. It's raining and storming outside and I have NO WHERE to go, nothin to do. :)

Also, since I last posted here, I have taken up Japanese. I bought "Rosetta Stone" for Japanese and am having a ball - in what little time I have to study. For those who dont' know, my employer is Japanese and I work around the Japanese. My son's wife is also Japanese, they have been married since 2002 and her English has come along rather well. (She knew not one word of english on their first date.)

I should have taken on Japanese years ago.

I see you did element 1 of Rosetta Stone as well! :yes

So, my last threads created on the 'Port are:

Post something Random
Post something stupid
Should I do it?

Which one(s) should I start here? :D

no, what little i know of the kenji and the japaneses is from the martial arts i learned

ie arm (ude)
ie wrist(koto)
throw(uke)

and to kick(geri) and to block(uke as well) and parry(barai) and so forth. counting is must in that language and also hai and so forth. and greetings.

I don't' know anything about marital arts. But give me time, and I SHOULD be speaking SOME Japanese.

But, fact is, I also have a lot of other stuff to learn for this job - really shouldn't be spending time on Japanese but we all need something to do for fun and my ham radio hobby is over, probably for life.

be sure to learn the different way of saying the words as its patriarchial society and well the japenese will laugh if you say it like a girl.

i mean like this

ichi(one)

a man says ich and a lady says ichi

Truly, it is a VERY complicated language. Makes ours seem simple.
Change emphasis on a syllable and have a new word...
Try to count and sound like you don't know your own GENDER...
And all of the consonants that are SILENT, then if you say them... oh, boy!

But I like a challenge. I gues

try to the gap tween hebrew and greek and from them to english and you will then see the various ways the bible has with words.

the septugiant wasnt directly translated from hebrew.

uh not really.

we do have the jews of today that have preserved their heritage and have recorded the sages.

the literal six day event is meant to read that way. they argue over old earth and evolution as we do. a member here pointed me into the rambam and aslo vic for the site chabad.org.

theres alot we dumb gentiles dont know but god did overall preserve his word. its my belief that if we cant even plainly read the bible then whats the point of believing in the god of the bible? he to ignorant to communicate then and he is off no use to me.

they choose not to a literal translation to greek as they felt that greek couldnt say it right so they worded it as close as they could. this is why one must also at least try to understand the culture that the tanach(ot) was dealing with.

i have a tanach and its close to what the kjv says and both are based on the essenes masoretic text.
