I'm saying Christians worshipped before there was a Bible. Why is that hard for you to understand?
??? Where did I indicate that this is hard to understand?
The first born-again believers had no Liturgy, no Bible as we have it today, no church building to meet in, no priest in odd robes ordering their worship and instruction, just the indwelling and filling Holy Spirit. How about you,
LanaPodesta? Are you indwelt by the Holy Spirit? Does he daily "bear witness with your spirit" (
Romans 8:16) that you are one of God's children? If he doesn't, you have very serious reason to be concerned! To be a Christian is to be a "temple" of the Holy Spirit by whom every child receives new spiritual life, the life of Jesus, and is, by this life, made a born-again child of God.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,
20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
Titus 3:5
5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
Romans 8:9
9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
1 John 4:13
13 By this we know that we abide in God and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
LanaPodesta, you are looking in the wrong place for the wrong thing. You don't have to go to a church and experience a religious rite to experience God; you are, if you are one of God's children, His temple in whom He constantly dwells by His Spirit. If you have "opened the door" of your heart to Jesus, he has come into you and intends to "dine" with you directly and personally, giving you in himself all his goodness and abundance. This is the normal, basic Christian life,
LanaPodesta. Have you experienced it yet?
Revelation 3:20
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
John 10:10
10 ...I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Psalm 16:11
11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
