Greetings my friends relaxing in the Lounge of this forum.

As you know I really don't post here...
No theology
No apologetics
?

But I do have to say this since I'm really upset.

As you all know,,,I attend a Catholic church but am not catholic in doctrine (it's OK the priest knows this).
The church has help for the poor....clothing, food, emergency payment of bills, even cash in some cases.
I used to know the woman who ran this (she has since passed away at a young age).

So why am I upset? Cannot go into the entire story....but,

1. I know for sure that woman was giving money to a girl with 3 kids that did not need it.

2. I have now become aware of the fact that someone in the County is helping a different family that does not need help.

Am I jealous?
Praise the Lord,,,,no.

But I know so many that REALLY need the help and are NOT getting it.
The priest even donates money and help to these families when it's really necessary since he also does not earn a lot.

This is sooooo unjust.
What's going on?
Because one person knows how to cry they get help,
and those that do not know how to cry and be smart enough get no help?

Nothing can be done about this.
I guess that's why I'm so upset.

I read today that poor people that have no way of proving to the IRS that they exist will not get a stimulus check
There are so many like that where I live
Injustice?
That's life.
That's why God puts us here to pick up the slack.
Do what we can, it will make a difference.
And God will surely bless us.

it is upsetting for sure - i have been fooled many times by people with a compelling (but false) story

compassion without wisdom does wasteful things with money and goods

it is a lack of wisdom

that is why the bible says to seek wisdom as it's more precious than gold - Proverbs 16:16

those who don't realize they are being fooled or being unwise are feeling ok

only those with wisdom can see

i ask God what to do about things that upset me - sometimes He gives me something to do about it - sometimes He tells me to pray and stay away from situations that are not going to change because people are not interested in changing

Actually there are two things you can do.
1/ tell it all out to God.
2/ investigate how other old banks and support groups operate, ask them about the checks and balances they have to prevent abuse and support that Charity.

Keep praying. Nothing is hidden from our God of justice.

Hi wondering,

This is my first post here and just wanted to say that I was sorry to hear you are upset. Hoping you can work through this and things improve for you.

Blessings.....Barnaby

Hi Truthfrees,,,
Agreed on the above,,,
but I don't know if it's lack of wisdom or some just know how to cry really well.
I think it's called crocodile tears.
I just think it takes away from those really needing the help.
Some have no family to help them....AND are in financial need.

Actually there are two things you can do.

Who Me....
I do believe God knows and He is the only one that is truly just.

It's not a charity I support,,,it's a church staff doing this.
And someone in city hall also that helps those she likes and not
those in need.

Same difference.

If you have evidence of wrong doing, malpractice against the rules then report it.

Oh my gosh.
You don't understand where I live...
I might as well just move to another town!!!
That would be done under normal circumstances...
these are not normal!

Since this is part of Biblical helps being part of the Spiritual gifts as in 1 Corinthians 12:28 then there needs to be someone that God would put in charge of the position to oversee the operations of distribution of the funds to help others in need. There needs to be some kind of screening process for those who cry wolf.

Is there anyway you could have a meeting with the board of directors of the church and include the Priest in order to present your concerns?

No Board of Directors.
in a CC, the Pries or Monsignor is in charge.
He doesn't really know what's going on.
Are you saying I should tell him?
I've considered it,,,but then I'd have to move.

I agree,,,but how do persons not exist??
Maybe they don't make out tax forms?
I think everyone has to make them out even if they don't owe anything.
How would the government know they exist otherwise??

Yeah...
I understand completely.

Money is one of those things that people do all kinds of things for. Immoral and illegal things to obtain. Literally selling their souls to Satan for a pittance.

But we as Christians have a giving Spirit inside of us...but we don't want to promote evil either.
It's a total paradox.

Hand ups are few and far in between. People who just need a hand up so that they can do for themselves...so rare...and they usually don't ask. People who constantly whine and moan that they need this and need that... usually are lazy and wasteful with their rescources. They behave like the world owes them. (When not asking for something)

Paul and Moses both had to tell people to stop giving to them because they had plenty...
Never heard a preacher after that say anything similar... for a reason.

God's money is God's...and there's a terrible price to pay for mismanagement...worse than you can imagine. And I've been horrified at what has happened to those who steal from God. And I used to enjoy reading and watching horror books and movies...but not after researching those who stole from God. That was way scarier.

That being said...

Our job is to give...

But I still have a rather full bank account of God's money. My wife and I are always looking to empty it. We do on occasion. But it is reserved solely for giving away. And often it has performed miracles.

Our church here has a cathedral... other churches aren't doing so well. We both love missions. And God has placed people and organizations in our path and we stroke the check with a smile and bit of relief when we do. Our responsibility has ended for a while.
Now it belongs to someone else.

And if I was you...
I would warn the people crying that what they are doing is very very dangerous...being in the hands of a justifiably angry God is a terrible thing. One I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

Agreed,.. but with a couple or maybe even a few exceptions that I can think of most horror movies are fiction and that's the difference. Besides, what would Halloween be like without watching some horror movies every now and then? :mischief
