YosefHayim: By the way, did you consider that the company that supplies paper on which porn in printed , might also supply paper to another company that prints Bibles. Okay so how about avoiding that company altogether, too...? But wait a minute: what if the company that sells paper to another company that prints Bibles, non-Democrat-leaning newspapers, etc. only, actually gets the paper pulp from the same commercial forest in Canada as, say, the company that prints Bibles and porn? (Where does it all end? ) I think we need to be careful not to get too fixated, and simply be thankful that the Word in the form of the KJV, etc. is going out. Blessings.

And do those companies contribute to changes in the Bible? I do believe there's a large difference here, especially when we're talking about the Word of God. HC has controll over Zondervan. Zondervan and Biblical meet up to consider changes in the bible. You're talking about people selling material to different companies, not companies having an influence over what goes into a biblical translation and what buying that bible contributes to. The word of God should be taking porn producers and satanists out of business, not supporting them.

Just to note...even though I am agreeing with the fact that these publisher's (didn't it start with Lucius Trust-is that mispelled) have been playing God with His Word...it does not mean that I am encouraging others to throw away their Bibles---God forbid.

This is what I call...truly beginning to rely on the Holy Spirit for understanding and to seek Him for hearing His voice.

This deed that these publishers are doing are the prophecied "Esau" kingdom that has risen in the end of these end days. Their agenda is doing just what they do best---to kill us spiritually.

And my point is that so far it's just an unsupported assumption that publishers have done anything to change the Bible, or as you put it, to play God with His Word. The arguments given against the NIV so far are simply not based on sound reasoning.

I have used the NIV previously. But, when this verse (and other verses) is taken out of the NIV and probably other versions too...
Mat_17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
I just don't see how that is not based on sound reason that someone is tampering with doctrine.

But I only state that I chose the Authorized KJV, just as others have chosen theirs. We all get to make our own choices based on the knowledge and discernment given to us.

Blessings...

Well this is where we need to be careful so as to avoid much of the fallacious reasoning found in KJV Onlyism, seen on sites such as av1611.

One must first look to see if the verse should have been there in the first place. KJVOists like to say that such and such a verse was removed from other versions, simply because it is found in the KJV. But that is the error of circular reasoning.

But I only state that I chose the Authorized KJV, just as others have chosen theirs. We all get to make our own choices based on the knowledge and discernment given to us.

I have no problem with people preferring one version over another. The problem I have is when one version is so exalted above other versions that any other version is automatically presumed to be full of error. Or, as has been done in this thread, one version is said to be corrupt with no evidence to support such a claim other than fallacious reasoning.

Are some versions better than others? Of course. Are some versions so corrupt that they should be thrown out? The only one I can think of is the NWT used by JW's. Has the NIV been corrupted by pornographers and satanists? No. Is it perfect in what it says? No, none is. Can it lead one to salvation? Yes.

In the end, regardless of what version one uses, it does not guarantee that one will correctly understand what is said and that's one's theology will be correct.
