I dont think I've ever measured one. It's 12 degrees out and a new blanket of snow over everything here so I'll guess, lol prolly around 30 inches or so?

Oh it's attached all right. and it normally stays attached. Usually only removed from the car during one of those frustrating moments I spoke of, lol.
