By 'gap', I mean in terms of physical, human years.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8

Our dimension of time is different to God's. God created something new for each day of His creation and for Him, this was done in one day. Since that one day is with God a thousand years, perhaps each day of creation is a thousand years, in terms of human years. I could have a theory that about 5,000 years had passed before He decided to create Adam and Eve.

When 2 Peter 3;8 is use in the context as done in the above post my question is how owns the cattle on hill number 1001
Psa_50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

Time shall be no longer. When did time start?

And the evening and the morning were the third day.

Now for day 4

Genesis 1:14 KJV
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

24 hour days (night and day) were established in length on day four by the lights (sun, moon, etc.).

The first 3 days are undefined as to length in the Bible. We can guess / speculate all we want.

The tree of life is the symbol that replenish will happen. In the garden life would go on forever as long as they ate of the tree. After they could not eat they replenished the earth.

Jesus slain from the foundation of the earth is shown in creation. We may have to scratch our heads as to why replenish is there, but God already knows. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil will bring death, if you eat the fruit. So replenish is going to be necessary - folks are going to die.
But
Things were made good, then came sin.

Words. Wow.

Words are very powerful. Words become flesh are more powerful still.
Flesh become a quickening spirit. Just how powerful is it?

Metaphysics. Actually I do not know if it is a bible word as such. I do know the concept is in the Bible.

Meta can be beyond. Beyond the physical lies the supernatural / spiritual.

Luke 11:31 KJV
The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Digging into a saying is what should have a Christian in the Word / Spirit trying to understand. Metaphor (or other term) should not be just dismissed as a literary term. God hid spiritual truth in the physical creation, words, parables, etc.

Just to say well that is just an unknown, leaves this off:

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Reba has just about sent us on a search. Are we up to the challenge? I would like some cattle. They do not have to be physical cattle, but wisdom, knowledge, deep understanding will do just fine.

Is the garden of Eden a place of Heaven/Paradise or did Adam and Eve had a full relationship with God on earth?

In one sense I should just ignore this, but (in season out of season applies).

I am going to leave some of the hidden in place:
The image man and woman were placed in an image world.

The world- contains symbols: seed, ground, planters. A mystery filled place.

Heaven- contains spiritual realities that can explain earth / world. The new covenant moves part of the explanations from heaven to man (kingdom).
The sower is the son of God
The seed is the word of God
The ground is men's hearts

Adam and Eve got the mysteries:
Eat this tree and live
Avoid this tree or die

The multitudes still got mysteries in Jesus's day (parables).
The disciples got the revelation from Jesus.

We have the benefit of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Sum: earth and heaven have the same story, but in different forms.
