Interesting Times for Sure

When I was a young boy I remember thinking to myself that once nuclear weapons (or any weapon for that matter capable of mass destruction) got into the hands of the radical nations/leaders it would very potentially mean the end of our civilization. I am not necessarily suggesting that this is it and that our days are numbered, however, it certainly could be the case. For some time now there has been the capability in our world to destroy essentially everyone and everything. At this point there are also a number of unstable nations with very desperate and deranged leaders who are very close to having that capability themselves. I do not know when Jesus will return as he said himself that he will come like a thief in the night. Perhaps it will be another thousand years but I'm beginning to think he better hurry.

As technology increases the capability for harm increases.

In the 1400's using a firearm was a big deal. Today I can get a semi or fully automatic firearm without too much trouble (as well as the ammunition)

I can find and mix household chemicals in sufficient quantity to destroy huge buildings or anything.

But I have no desire to do so.

But I'm also sure that maniacs exist.

With the right knowledge I can bring down a bridge with nothing more than a drill.

Destruction is and has always been easy. Building things...That's the talented part.

Amen, Johndb. I take my comfort in and from the scriptures and though it sounds trenfy, I read the whole book and I know the ending and in the end, w win, those of us that are in Christ.

Funny this thread should come up. I was just talking at work yesterday about end times when the subject of international politics comes up. I don't try to convert people. I just say what I believe the Lord would say and make it sound interesting so they would want to investigate things further. When people see the truth finally, the Spirit will lead them to repentance. I'm just God's donkey so-to-speak. Anyways, what I said was I don't see the end times coming just yet, but like a chess game I see things taking shape. I mentioned several times here about "weird years", ya know, the types that one gets the feeling there is something ominous going on in the background like something "big" is going to happen down the road, despite sunny days and fun in the sun. This makes it sort of like time travel. 1979 was one of those years I remember a very DARK feeling. There was a sort of distant evil in the air. Turns out I believe this was the start of one of the sides (south) I believe Daniel prophesied about (clue: Think Iran, radical Islam). 2011 was another odd year. But we have to watch for things to take place before the end can come. National alliances are not there yet. Brexit was indirectly prophesied in the bible and was the British equivalent of "taking back your country" the way it happened here. Awhile back I knew that a powerful leader had to come from Europe, particularly Germany. However, I did not see how that was to happen and I knew Britain (UK) would not be a part. And now Trump does not want to help out Europe so they will have to rely on another powerful nation without the US and UK. Expect the next superpower to be Germany, although this did not happen yet, but as recently as a few months back we could not see that with Britain in the picture. Also, keep your eyes on Jerusalem, specifically the temple. It has to be rebuilt for the AC to commit the abomination. Again, I don't see at this point how it will be built, but everything is in place for the Jews to build it with the drop of a hat. If another avalanche situation turns up, this can be a very real thing. This is why there's enthusiasm for Trump to move the embassy to Jerusalem. And I can go on and on, but you get the idea. A lot of work yet to do, but how soon is another question, but it the end will not come unless these things are in place.

During the "Cold War" the Soviet Union and NATO kept their booger hooks off the bang button because they knew that nobody would win and it would be insanity to start a nuclear war.
Now we have Iran, the world's biggest supporter of terrorism, developing a nuclear capability and willing to put in the hands of people who don't mind annihilating the whole world because they're going to get 70 virgins and an eternal drunken orgy in paradise for blowing themselves up (and the rest of the world with them) because they will have pleased Allah the moon god of Mecca.
The game has changed.
Now those who will soon be able to start a nuclear war consider insanity to be normal.
