Hi everyone,

I am really excited to be on this forum. I originally made a longer post to introduce myself but the forum wouldn't let me post it for some reason. My story l think is a bit different than others here but l will leave that for another post. I am hoping to find some answers to my questions and to have meaningful exchanges?

Thank you Tessa humble soul for_his_glory for your warm welcome!

humble soul not sure if you are really serious about Catholicism but I am orginally a Christian from the middle east and although my demoniation is not catholic, we do follow the Catholic church in many aspects. But I am very interested in a exploring a different (maybe not so different?) approach which is why I joined this forum.

Interesting post. My Catholicism is no longer conservative. I prefer the monastic mystical tradition.

Close but neither. I am a Maronite Christian. We are an eastern church that follows the Roman catholic church but we do have some differences: our own patriarch, we still use Syriac during mass, a married man may become a priest and stay married (but not the other way around), etc.

Welcome to the forum.
We talk on a wide variety of things. We are all from around the world...every continent.
But we all have the same Heavenly Father.

From each other's faith and knowledge we are stronger and better equipped in our faith.
Welcome!

Thank you JohnDB and all other members for your welcome. It really warms my heart to see solidarity in Christ transcending cultures, continents and races.

I have turned my back on God for a very very long time and the prayers of my mother and family finally payed off and I recently decided to walk with Him again. I feel like a child though, curious about everything, rediscovering things again and still seeking answers. Forums like these are very helpful to accompany me on this journey, especially that they offer a different and refreshing way to view things.

Yeah...I know the feeling well that you described.
It goes with the proverb Solomon said. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart"

Notice it says nothing about the "middle years"? Because we all go through a period of rebellion.
We all are individuals and as such we all have our own unique relationship with the Messiah Jesus. My relationship with God is not the same as my family's is.

I have learned much from talking on forums along with my own studies. I listen to the different positions and then study myself for what I see to be true. Always asking "WHY?"

Those searches for answers to my questions always bring up new questions. And this searching for answers and new questions along the way has a name called The Halaak.

Feel free to post some of your questions and the answers as you go on your journey of study. It's actually a pleasure to discuss these things even if we don't all agree on the answers. But these answers are all possibilities of what you can find to be true for yourself in your walk with Jesus.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart? It is thanks to open minded attitudes like these that we seekers can find the safe space to explore our relationship with the Lord. I hope I will soon muster up the courage to post some of my questions here

I've been there myself as well and now that you put it like that that actually makes perfect sense to me. I never want to go down that road again though.
