Introduction to Preterism - Lesson 1

Reply soon

Everyone interested,

I'll reply soon -- Weekends around here are reserved for family time so I'm not on the internet much during that time.

See you soon (soon as in a short time, not 1000 years or "quickly")

Hi forum,

It looks like something is keeping Roderick from getting back to this.

While I don't qualify as either a full or partial preterist I consider the preterist slant on eschatology to be the closest to biblical.

I would gladly discuss what I know of the preterist idea if any one is curious about some of the doctrine.

The other day I purchased Tim LaHaye's prophecy Bible (it's KJV, btw  ).

It has a very good article by Thomas Ice showing how preterism is a load of bull droppings, and why Revelation was NOT written prior to 70 AD.

It also mentions the pre-wrath view of the rapture, before going into great detail supporting the pre-tribulation rapture.

Some last a few weeks (like “88 Reasons the Rapture will be in 1988â€Â) and some a few years (like the fast-fading so-called “Pre Wrath viewâ€Â).
Fast fading :smt043 this view of the timing is as old as NT scripture is itself... about the only thing new about it is the name it has been given.

Stumbled across this article while doing some surfing today...

The New Last Days Scoffers by Dr. Roy Hinson
All these men seems to spend more time putting down other views instead of supporting their own, as if claiming others as being wrong somehow makes theirs right. It doesn't work that way. :-?

You know that funny Vic (funny as in strange, not "hah-ha)

I was just going a little more in-depth into the "pre-Wrath" view on the websites Judy posted over in that topic, and the thing that struck me most about THEM is how they seem to merely be putting down the pre, mid- and post-tribulation views without offering much in the way of Scriptural support.

Oh they quote some scripture, but I didn't find it very convincing. They seem to think the Paraousia and Rapture are the same event, for example. Plus alot the arguements (like Rev 3:10 ) are the same arguement pre-tribbers use.

When I've examined those sites a little further I'll post in the "pre-Wrath" folder.

In the meantime, could you refer me to the links you are posting about? Judy posted a few links and I 'd like to read which one(s) you are referring. Thanks

Oh boy....I found some BIG whoppers! I'll post them in the Pre-wrath topic
