Is a Vision Mandatory
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to Create a Servant of Jesus.
Is a vision mandatory to fulfill our personal commissions from God?
Prov 29:18 - Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
I believe that everyone has a calling to accomplish within the Body of Christ. I believe God gives us a prophetic introduction to point us in the way we should go spiritually. This is what I call vision. The quick glimspe God gives a believer regarding their destiny and duty. Paul recieved a glimspe, Timothy received a glimspe, and a lot of others. I received the same regarding my personal commission within the Great Commission.
Acts 9
6So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?"
Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."
7And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one. 8Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. 9And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.
10 Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, "Ananias."
And he said, "Here I am, Lord."
11So the Lord said to him, "Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. 12And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight."
13Then Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. 14And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name."
15But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. 16For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake."
I have asked other believers about their vision from God regarding their personal commission. Some claim to have not received a vision and some have not recognized a vision as an actual vision from God. Visions are real. However, I believe that they are mandatory if a believer is to effectively do what God called and destined them to do.
I believe some have not received a vision due to their own spiritual immaturity, unwillingness to believe, and sinful lifestyle. I believe God wants to reveal things to us regarding our future within His kingom on this side of Earth. People in general are just not trained to expect and accept a vision from God. Vision are generally met with skeptism and fear.
Heb 11:6 -But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Jas 1:5 -If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Re 4:1 - After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this."
Utimately a believer needs a vision, empowerment of the Holy Spirit, benelovent love for others, discipleship, and a personal commission from God to a be a true and effective servant of and for God. I wonder what others think? Let me know. Is a vision necessary?
