Yep, all believers should be ministers of the gospel.

Does it cost money to spread the Gospel? Did Jesus have a treasureor? I believe one problem with the Church today is we are pretty stingy. We live in a world where everyone wants things for free.

Judas was Jesus' treasurer. Unfortunately, he was a thief.

What do you all consider a big church?

1000+ people

Not that I consider big churches bad at all. Just different.

Considering the town I live in only has 35,000 or so, I'm used to small churches.

1000 folks, I would consider a large a church,
What about the rest of you folks. What do u consider a large a church?

I belong to a non-denominational church. We probably run about 100 every week. We don't have the luxury of denominational funding. My pastor also has a full time job to supplement his income. I help out a lot and have never taken any money for it. If I go to another church to preach, I give the collection back to the church. I really don't think there should be a limit on the size of a church. I think the biggest Evenglical church is in South Korea with about 250,000 members. They must have church services every day of the week and also at night.

Yes, Judas stole from the church, but that doesn't negate that Jesus needed money for His earthly ministry. In fact, I don't believe Jesus was poor. You know, God blesses those who give.

8-) Seems to me that in choosing Judas as treasurer, Jesus gave us a hint of what to look out for when people gather and organize as a community/congregation of sorts.

I never looked at it that way. Great point! :-)
