[_ Old Earth _] Is evolution really Biblical?

Did life evolve from what God had created? Did God create life and everything just evolved from that into the various life forms we see today? Please show me the Biblical evidence. Thanks and God Bless!

Come on Dave don't get me started.. :naughty

Please show me the Biblical evidence! :)

Show us the Biblical evidence for protons or solid-state electronics. There are many things that are true, that are not Biblical.

The bible clearly spits in the face of evolution just because the Bible says nothing on atoms is completely irreverent.

Show us that passage.

just because the Bible says nothing on atoms is completely irreverent.

Says nothing about evolution, either. Like so many other things, these are facts on which the Bible says nothing at all.

Although modern evolutionists try to distance themselves from the consequences of taking their theory into a social realm, these historical atrocities are the result of taking evolutionary philosophy to its logical conclusion.

Scientists have always pointed out that nature is not a place to find ethics. Darwin, for example, deplored the idea of survival of the fit being applied to humans. (He called it an "overwhelming evil" in The Descent of Man)

The Nazi program was taken not from science (Darwinists in the 1920s and 1930s had shown it to be not only evil but scientifically insupportable) but from Martin Luther, a fact they freely admitted. Luther's The Jews and Their Lies contains about 90 percent of Hitler's Final Solution for the Jews.

Perhaps this is why some fundamentalists so frantically try to shift the blame elsewhere.

Re: If evolution is Biblical, why didn't the Jesus speak of it?

The Holy Bible is not a science book and evolution bears no relevance to our salvation. There are a lot of things that Jesus never spoke of.
Indeed. I see no reason to suppose that evolution would be any more 'biblical' than gravity, quantum theory, the weak atomic force or the dynamics of planetary orbits. As far as I am aware, none of these latter topics are regarded as incompatible with Christian belief and none of them is spoken of in the Bible. It seems singularly obsessive that evolution is marked out for particular opprobrium.

Yes, thank you Kalvan.

These things aren't in the Bible for two reasons. 1. The Bible is not a Science book. 2. They hadn't been discovered yet.

Why didn't Jesus speak of the earth being round or say that the Earth wasn't the centre of the solar system, or heck, the universe? Because Jesus didn't say it in the Gospels, it can't possibly be true, right? This is what progression is. We learn new things as we go along, they didn't come to us as soon as we were created. We discovered them. There is no shame in gathering intelligence. As a species, it's only natural that we progress as we go along.
